A&P II Club, 2007 - page 18

Hello everyone, I thought I'd go ahead and start a thread for A&P II. Does anyone know if there's a process to request a thread being made sticky? Has anyone been getting a jump start on... Read More

Hey everyone, I just found out my grade on the Cardiovascular system test. I made a 97. I can't believe it. I really didn't think I did that good. I have a lab pratical next week. Now it is on to the digestive and lymphatic systems. Good luck everyone with the rest of the class.

    Thanks for the thread.

I will definitely be checking the site to see what's available. I am currently taking both A and P's online. It's a lot of WORK but so far so good.

I am currently studying the venous system ;-)

I can't wait for the semester to be over. I have 5 more classes to take before I start a BSN program in the fall.

We just got our lab test for the cardiovascular system and blood vessels back today. I got the highest C. For a question on labels in sheep heart anatomy, instead of putting bicusid or mitral valve I put left atrioventricular valve. If I hadn't made that stupid mistake I would have gotten a B. Also my teacher takes off for spelling so I lost a couple points there.

Well My A&P II starts tomorrow the 10th. Oh what fun 8 week classes are. We will be starting on the endocrine system so I have started taking my own notes on this chapter. That really seemed to help me in A&P I. I'll have the same teacher for A&P II as I did for A&P I so that makes me feel better since I know what he's looking for. Good luck to everyone.

Well, I had my first test in APII today on chpts 19, 20 and 21. I didn't think the material was too hard to learn and understand although my test grade showed the complete opposite! I made a D on my first test! I need to start reading a couple of pages of text each night and really try to absorb this stuff! The tests aren't just from read text material. We've got to understand the whole concept and the mechanism involved in order to get the correct answers. It's tough!
I guess I'm not the only one! But does it feel better knowing someone else is having the same problem? NO!

The text doesn't seem to cover the material on the exams and there is no lecture for online classes, so how does one teach themselves the processes in physiology???? I feel like I can understand much of what is read and what's talked about in the small time we have in lab, but to put it together in total understanding of process is impossible! When I get to the exams and read a question that brings no automatic recall, I panic!

Our class average scores are declining with each exam, and the first was a D ! I've been getting high C's on the exams and with this last I got a straight C. With lab quizzes, chapter quizzes, and our group project, I still feel like I can swing a B for the class, but what a stress !

I asked my professor for a tutor. After a couple weeks, I was told there is not one available but if I'd like to meet with him, he could try to help. Then I asked if I could meet with him this past week - before the exam I took today was due - and he told me he could meet with me after lab next week! Too late to help me with this exam!

I'm feeling nearly defeated! I never had to work this hard for a decent grade... which I'm not getting!

Congratulations to all you who are doing well on your exams! Keep up the good work and count your blessings!

I posted this on the AP I site as well as I am posting it here. I have sent my AP I and II notes and PowerPoints to several AP students on this site. I hope they are helping each of you. I am enclosing websites that I used to help me succeed in both AP classes.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!! We're nearing the end of the semester for A&P11 thankfully, and I've got my last exam on Tuesday regarding the urinary and reproductive systems before our final comprehensive exam on Dec. 6th! I've got to do well on this test and my final in order to get a B for the class. I've looked over all the links you've posted and a lot of this will be very helpful. I'm saving your post to my favorites list! Thanks again!!! I'm taking Micro (human pathogens) next semester so I hope to find some resources for that as well during my short break after the fall semester to be well prepared!

You are very welcome. I start Micro in Jan, it is part of our core nursing courses. I will keep you posted on any sites I find and the notes I take as well. When do you start Micro?

I'm taking Micro and Lab in January as well. I only have that and Math 130 which is Pre-Calculas Algebra left to take which is a good feeling knowing that I'm at the end! I'm taking Nutrition also just to learn about it which is very helpful to know in nursing but it's not a requirement. It use to be a requirement but they took it off the curriculum for whatever reason. The fall 08 class admission has letters of acceptance into Charity (N.O.) in mid December and you best believe I'll be checking my mailbox daily!

A sticky is a posting that does not move. It is always there for you to be able to find. Whereas the ones below this "sticky" section rotate depending on people posting and people starting new threads. Welcome to the club.
