Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello everyone,

I thought I'd go ahead and start a thread for A&P II. Does anyone know if there's a process to request a thread being made sticky?

Has anyone been getting a jump start on class by reading ahead? I found my Prof's powerpoint notes online, so I'm making some flash cards as well :)

Peace,

Cathie

Hi all I start A&P2 in June, I took A&P 1 and got a B+. It was a tough course, but I enjoyed it.. It's amazing how all the things that I learned now become a bit more "real" when I watch medical shows, etc.. I love Dr. G medical examiner, she had a case where a retarded man died suddenly at home with his sister present. He was eating a sandwich at the time. They thought he choked. He didn't and they couldn't figure out what happened, turned out his spinal canal was actually growing down into his Foramen magnum and it caused death. I have same teacher for A&P2 and hopefully same book.

Good Luck to ALL!

Good luck in 102 I loved 102 so much more then 101 its when everything comes together Imo.

I have 2 more weeks to go we have our last practical today and it looks like a doozy but I am kind of excited for the challange. Everyone was complaining yesterday but we have had over a month to prepare I am set!

Starting A&P II in August, anyone else?

I'm starting ANP 102 in June. It's an 8 week semester. I'm hoping I didn't make a big mistake taking it on a short semester. I did fine in ANP 101 (103%). Hopefully, 102 won't be too much tougher. Has anyone tried it on a short semester? I'll have to have an A to get in to my school's RN program. You have to have A's in all the pre-req's and a high 80/low90 on the TEAS to even be considered. What is everybody else scoring on the TEAS?

Yay I got an A!!!! Grades were just posted last night. I'm SO excited! I was REALLY close and the way the prof had it set up it was impossible to figure out my exact grade. But I just did all the work I could do (extra credit paper and test, etc.) and it worked! =)

I have a B!!! yeah...and an A in Micro. It was a tuff semester but its over!

Well my class started today. We started on the endocrine system in both lab and lecture. Already I LOVE lab better than lecture :lol2:. This teacher is way better than my other one because we have powerpoint and outlines. My other teacher NEVER did outlines, study guides, projects, etc. Just straight tests.

I think I will like this class way better. It is a 10 week course but I think it will be easier only because its more organized and the textbook is more understandable than in Anatomy.

How's everyone's other summer A & P 2 classes going?

I think most of us are finishing up A&P2 from the Spring semester (actually, my school's on quarters, so I'm finishing up A&P3). I've really enjoyed A&P2-3 and now I'm looking forward to Micro in the Summer :)

Best of luck!!!!

Cathie

Took my first test on the endocrine system. Received a 100% sooo happy. Hope the rest of physiology is like this I really enjoy and actually understand the endocrine system.

I just completed A&P I last week with an A! :balloons:

A&P II doesn't start until July 9th. I'm taking it online since I'm tired of going to class three days a week for 2-3 hours at a time (we're on the quarter system). I'm going to start reading the book early.

I start ANP 102 tomorrow. I found the instructor's Powerpoint notes online and started printing them off. 80 pages for the first chapter, 55 for the second, and so on. I'm starting to panic. Is it possible to get an A (which I have to get to make it into nursing school) in an 8 wk class that appears to cram in more material than the 16 wk course I just finished? I did great in ANP 101 but I studied constantly. I won't have half as much time for this class. I'm thinking maybe I should wait and take it this Fall so I'll have the full 16 wks. Of course, that means I can't apply to the Spring '08 RN program and I'll have to wait until that Fall. Any advice?
