Nope, not you. You will study them till you know them. You wont quit till you do. I know you too well, hu?

You just don't learn it from pictures as you do from the "real thing" since it's three dimensional.
I will make copies of the pictures in the book so that I can practice labeling all the different vessels and start memorizing them. He is very good about telling us what we need to know, I really appreciate that about him.
I am just afraid that I mix up the arteries and veins

I wound up with a B on my second lecture test. Our lab midterm is next week, and counts for 15% of our overall grade. They are trying to rush through material to get everything covered. I hate the lab tests!!

Between waiting on 'the letter' and trying to study, I'm not having a very productive day

Thanks My maillady usually runs around lunch time, and I keep running to the window to see if the mail has come yet. I'm such a basketcase.

Doh! I just realized I have a laptop and wireless internet. I can just go sit on the front porch! Wahoo!

    hehe

I think what has helped me is all the science classes are overlapping. I feel like it is all being pounded into my brain. You might want to try flashcards.

Flashcards have been the only thing to get me through my science classes. I buy in bulk!

I like to go through the backwards, too (with the 'answer' up) -- especially when studying for the lab test. Our lab test is not multiple choice and does not have a test bank. We just have to KNOW the answer. So, it really helps to make sure that I can come up with that answer on my own.

Had my lecture today and I am terribly frustrated with my professor.....
He has blown off questions I had in the past and was short with me on more than one occasion, everytime I had a concern he found a way to get rid of me swiftly....I tried everything, meet him in his office during office hours, catch him before class etc...guaranteed it was the WRONG time. I don't have frequent unintelligent questions and I usually only try to clarify things that could easily be misunderstood and gotten wrong on upcoming tests. I had to ask him something 3 or 4 times so far. After he so swiftly "got rid" of me he then answered someone' else's question VERY politely later on during lecture, mind you it was a guy who asked a question about something that we needed to know for the last test.....I can only imagine if I had asked that question....he took his time and was nice about it. Why such difference????? Needless to say it bothers me a GREAT deal. I am his only A student in this class, the average was a 61 on the first test and he keeps adjusting the score by throwing out more questions as time goes on (I might end up with 100 if he continues, did a 94 on my own merrit) I am female and I am foreign and I come to the conclusion that this bothers him....I bother him. I think that he doesn't want me to do well in his class. He doesn't treat anyone else this way but the other foreigner in my class....a doctor from Iran. He is very short with that guy because his English is worse than mine.
I feel like I don't want to ask anything anymore, who needs to be shot down everytime? Well he has help in the "shooting down" department from one of our students who he spends a considerably amount of time discussing Genetics etc with....she is the snobby premed student who was incredibly snooty with me and told me that the Biochem class I took wasn't a Biochem class!!!!! I haven't spoken to her since and have no intend to do so in the future. I feel that my concern was very important since it could very well be confusing and could cause me to answer wrong on our upcoming test. I am not finished with it even though he cut me off swiftly.....I just want to know what he needs me to answer, I want to know the truth. I want to know facts, that's all.
There is too much discussion in class about TV shows, too many inside jokes and stuff with his A&P1 students who are now in this A&P2 class. Most of them didn't do well on this last test.
The pre-med student seems to have free reign and address all kinds of off topic stuff, he has patience for days with her......he is also the Health career advisor at our school so I can half way understand that people flock to him but please........enough is enough....if someone has a serious question that could mean life or death on his hellish lecture test he has NO patience??????
I intend to get my question answered and schedule one more last conference.....where I expect to be swiftly gotten rid off again.
I am a no-nonsense person and something might just start flying if I am not dealt with appropriately this time.
Sorry for venting, I hope you all have more success. It's just so very discouraging since I am an extremely hard worker, I am not stupid and even though I have a disability (not related to English being my second language) I make top grades in all of the prerequisites.
I figured it out......I am not a cowgirl from Oklahoma with a shotgun! (taecher said he is a cowboy from Oklahoma and likes guns)
I seriously don't have anything against cowgirls/boys from Oklahoma, I actually like guns and was an air rifle champ in my home country/town! I Volunteered at the boyscout camp here last summer at the BB gun range and also shoot bow and arrow ...... ...I actually like the country life.....grew up in the country myself and know what cowmanure smells like..... just on another continents.
My enthusiasm is just really low right now. Sometimes I think I should just stay home, train for bodybuilding competition, adopot a child since I am past the age of having anymore of my own, raise some goats, get more cats and take it easy...not do this to myself any longer...... I really don't have to work, my husband loves me and makes enough money. I'd be better off playing with kids, be a homemaker, get ready for my oldest son's wedding next year, knit potholders and pretty sweaters and bake nice things and sell those ......maybe I am just getting too old for all this BS. Because BS it is!!!!!!
But then again I can't let a cowboy from Oklahoma stop me....and the premed student???? I won't be the first in line to be her patient....that's for sure. So off to the books and learn the veins and arteries and spite them.....or get a nail appt???? Who says you can't have it all???? Cows, killer abs, a gun and a nursing degree????
I may just be the one and my teacher and the premed student will just have to get over it!!!!!!!
