Does anyone else find A&PII to be much worse (harder!) than A&P I? We
started with the Endocrine system, which I found to be SO hard, and now
we've moved into the Heart and Circulatory System. Is it just me; am I
dumber this Fall than I was last Spring?

Oh yeah. Lots more intense. One speculation among my fellow students is that it's a "weed-out" semester, especially for those of us in the Accelerated Second Degree Program. We submit applications in January and selections are made before the end of next semester. Soooo... this is the last semester of actual grades before they let us into the Upper Division.

But yeah. Definitely tougher. My prof writes a killer test, that's for sure. And the lab that goes along with it... shew. They're killing us! Woo hoo!

I am finding it harder too. I did really good on my first exam, but I think the next one will be harder. It goes so deep, and there is so much to learn, but I enjoy it. I know less about the lymphatic system. In fact, I need to get off this computer and get to studying.

I feel the same way...A&P 2 is much harder than A&P1...we started with blood and the Immune system....OMG our prof loves the Immune system and is literally taking us out like pathogens We have our lecture test on Monday and I am seriously struggling with the material, he goes into it much deeper than other teachers so he said.
The Circulatory/heart system is next....another one of his favorites. He also said that the Circulatory system is the MOST important for us to learn as future nurses since we will be dealing with it so much. He already announced that it will be very much in depth and again....COMPLICATED
God help us make it thru.
On the light side.....I've already learned one very important fact....constipation may cause a heart attack LOL

I am in A&P II this semester also. We will be having our second lecture test next Thursday. I did really well on the first test but am having trouble getting motivated to study for this upcoming one. It is over the heart, vessels and circulation, and the lymphatic and immune systems. I think my problem is it is so much information, I just don't know where to begin. Also both my kids have stomach bugs which makes time to study hard to come by! Best of luck to everyone this semester! Oh yeah, I have my lab midterm next Tuesday but I think that will be pretty straight forward.

Stuff like that trips me up too. What helps me is to spend time on each page of notes. I like to feel like I know the first page pretty good before I go on to the next. Break it up into segments like that and that keeps it from being so overwhelming. Dont just forget about the previous page when you move on, but look over it just a little again each day. See if that helps you. I also read my chapters as many times as needed to make sure I take it all in. Repitition really helps me.
    Good luck.

P wave, QRS complex, and T wave.

I have a silly question -- Does anyone know WHY it starts with P?
  11. by lisabeth
I dont know why, but I just remembered it by alphabetical order and then found other ways to remember the depolorization/ repolorization, etc. I always look for ways to remember things that are somewhat similar in actions.
Who even knows how they come up with the names they do for all of that stuff. I have learned not to question some things because I know we will learn all the detail stuff in nursing school.

well the endocrine was ok.. i think if i wouldve studied more i wouldve done better.. go over the hormones .. right now the circulatory and heart is pretty easy.. really is just memorization right now.. not like the endocrine you had to know what the hormones did what and their diseases and stuff.. I hope ill do better in this test

Im having trouble with the p qrs and t also.. especially when they put all the graphs together.. with the aortic notch .. and all that.. its lines all over the place!! isnt it that the first half of the p is right atrial depolarization? and the other half is left atrial depolarization??is it the same for the qrs?? except its ventricular depolarization?
