I have to learn which organs are associated with each quadrant/region. Does anyone know of any helpful sites or have any resources so I can make sure that I am not missing any information or forgetting any organs!
I can give you a quick run down of all organs in the quadrants and body parts as well.
RUQ/right hypochondria: right axillary & right lung
Right lumbar region: liver, ascending intestine (part of large intestine), a little of the small intestine, and gallbladder.
RLQ/ inguinal region: contains right kidney which is retroperitoneal to the body.
(center of the body)
HYPERgastric region: this contains the heart and part of the left lung.
Umbilical region: this contains the greater omentum (stomach fat), abdominal aorta and vena cava; these are huge blood vessels that carry blood to and from the heart that deep to the intestines, the pancreas, and the transcending large intestine, and I would say the appendix.
HYPOgastric region: contains the colon, the descending intestine, and urinary bladder.
Pubic region: contains either male or female reproductive organs.
The LUQ region: contains the left lung and axillary.
The left lumbar region: contains the spleen and the stomach, and the left kidney (remember that there are two adrenal glands and each are located on top of each kidney).
LLQ/ left inguinal region: contains the descending intestine and also the colon.
And that should about do it....hoped I helped
