The application process hasn't even started yet but I didn't even find out about last year's scholarship until a couple days before the deadline. I did get my application in on time but was not... Read More

I hope my response was not fabricated lol. I spoke with a rep and they said they really want to see the most recent transcript. Which is the one I have in the transcript portion. Hope she wasn't just sayinh anything to say it. :-/ I am so unsure now. Not too confident about my application just for the transcript and now the SAR. Ehh..Good Luck to everyone though!
    Academic Transcripts
Applicants must submit official or unofficial transcripts from all post-secondary academic institutions/programs attended, including their current school. If the applicant is not currently or has not previously been enrolled in a post-secondary academic institution/program, a complete high school transcript should be submitted. The uploaded transcript must be legible and include the applicant’s school name, courses taken, grades received for each course, and cumulative Grade Point Average.

I would call again. But maybe they won't even notice that you are missing a transcript?

    [QUOTE=JeffC;6015525]Hi everyone:

I got the scholarship this past August...Let me know about any questions you have.

GPA: 3.9, 2.5 years of HIV education and prevention volunteer work, etc.

Is the state that you reside in considered a factor in the decision making? Reading through some posts from earlier cycles, it seemed that they divided states into different colors. Was there any significance to their divisions? I don't know if it was already asked but what was your resident state when you received the scholarship?

There is nowhere for me to login and see anything. I remember reading that last year they could still look at their application after the submission date...does anyone know how to do this?

i'm actually having trouble logging in to check the status update on my application as well. is anyone else having the same trouble? usually you can just sign on to the portal again and it'll let you know if it is "under review" and if your app is updated or what the current status of it is. but when i sign on it just keeps on saying [color=#333333]

    • you do not have nursing scholarship program role to access the requested page for the current cycle. please add nursing scholarship program role first.

Was told they have a glitch and that within. 3 days it would be fixed. I experienced same problem.

Oh good, I'm somewhat paranoid I didn't submit a file and would like to check my application.

I'm so happy we have this online community to help each other out. I, too, have been checking the portal almost everyday to check for updates. I'm really counting on this scholarship because I'll be paying a hefty out of state tuition for the masters program at Ohio State. Hopefully we all get this.

    Good luck everyone!

Hello everybody. Quick question, I'm reviewing my application from the portal webpage and I'm looking for the file I submitted for "Supporting Documents" but I don't see it listed under my document titles. Can someone tell me if it's just my application or is "Supporting Documents" missing from your list too?

I attached a screengrab of what I'm referring too.

Nobody should see "Supporting Documents" on their submitted application page and unfortunately, if you uploaded something in that area it probably won't be viewed or used throughout the reviewal process.

The main components shown on the submitted application page (as shown in your picture) are what they use for either verification of eligibility or for scoring of your application. As far as I know there are two stages to the process (to my knowledge): the first would be verifying that applicants are eligible and then placement in funding preference groups; the second would be scoring of your application, if you were eligible.

If scoring has not changed from previous years they look at the following:
    Three (3) Essay Questions
    Two (2) Reference Letters (Acad/NonAcad)
    Transcript(s)

Based on those six components your application is graded overall out of 100 points. I would assume this is then used for initial ranking of the applicants in determining scholarship recipients.

Please note: The above information is based on previous cycles and changes could have been made for the 2012-2013 cycle.

Why would the application create a spot for supporting documents if they were not going to be considered when reviewing the application? I did not put any of the necessary documents there, so I am okay on that end, but I did put something there that I would have liked them to see. It just seems odd that it would be there if it was of no use.

Also, did HRSA specify the way the reviewing and ranking processes go? I do not remember seeing that anywhere on their website, so how did you become familiar with these processes?

Exactly, there are plenty of things that could be used as "Supporting Documents:" volunteer log, newspaper clippings, additional letter of recommendations/transcripts, research, et al. I did talk to the call center to confirm what we could put in there and she said it is open ended. For me, I put my volunteer reports in there.

But that still doesn't answer my question. Does anyone have supporting documents listed in their submitted application?

Right. I think it's silly. And I do not have supporting documents listed in my submitted application.
