Anything is possible with determination! Come on girl, how bad do you WANT this?! Dig deep down, feel it in your soul and grab that motivation to do it! I am having a hectic semester but no giving up here! I work a full time job (plus overtime alot too, just had 11 hours overtime on this week's check), a part time job teaching a children's dance class once a week, plus 5 classes: chemistry, history 2, english 2, anatomy lab, and a dance class. My dance class is my fine arts credit and my sanity saver. As for the others, lets see 3 weeks into it and in my anatomy lab I've had 3 pre-labs, 3 lab reports, 3 quizzes and a test. For history I've had 8 quizzes, 5 class discussion assignments, and an essay, not to mention the readings! In english I've had one essay, 2 class discussion assignments, a million things to read and am now working on my second essay and research paper. I've done all this in 3 weeks! Take it one day at a time, one class at a time, one assignment at a time. It's overwhelming for anyone to have a pile of stuff to do and not know where to begin. Every Sunday I pull out my planner and plan pretty much down to the minute what I do each day. I write out the list of assignments and readings needing to be done for the week and put them in my planner. Then when I start finishing assigments I cross it off. It feels so good to actually see your hard work paying off! Those closest to me are always telling me "how do you do it" "you're going to kill yourself" "you need to slow down"! I know what I can handle and the biggest obstacle is mental! If I believe in myself, be determined to do it and don't slack off I am fine! You can be too! Find a system that works for you and get organized. Being organized makes you feel so much more on top of everything. I know you can do it! Good luck!

They don't offer an accelerated BSN program...I needed one year to finish my pre-reqs and then another 2 for the nursing program itself

I really appreciate everyone's advice...Here is what I think I'm going to do. I found a total of 5 ASN nursing programs, and I wrote down the requirements for each. I am going to drop my Chemistry and Spanish that I'm currently taking (I've decided taking Chem for chem majors is total Bull$%#@ and I'm wasting my time with it). I've got A's in everything else, so I'm going to stick with that. That leaves me taking Logic, Economics, and Child Psychology (the Psych is a 400 level course)...with my having test every day in Logic and Psych, that's enough. I am however, going to ask my Chemistry prof to see if he will allow me to keep coming to class, even though it's dropped, just to keep learning. (he won't have a problem with this)

I'm going to go to the community college next semester and take a high-school level Chemistry (that is all the ASN programs require) and then get started on my AP I class so I can take AP II in the Summer, once I have completed that, it will allow me to start apply to nursing schools. Then while I'm waiting, I'll start on things that is normally for the BSN, and then I'll just have to wait until I get in.

    Thanks everyone for your advice!

If it is having a BS you are worried about for the sake of future employment opportunities as a nurse management type - most employers will just accept your prior BS, it need not be in nursing. You just need to get the RN part somehow. An AD sounds like exactly what you need. Sounds like you have come up with a great plan!

    Hang in there!

Congrats...even the tone of your last post sounds much relieved....make sure you talk to the schools you're interested in attending ASAP as many are impacted and have waits of some sort. My community college is a first-come, first-served...you finish and meet a minimum of prereqs, then get your name on a list. The wait's between 1 and 2 years depending. Many other schools use a weighted system where you apply and then get placed accordingly. Still others I've read use a lottery system. It will be VERY important to get all of your ducks in a row and be prepared for each school's requirements. It will also help you avoid any wasted class time or money investment to be taking classes that won't apply.

There were 3 schools here locally and I applied to 2 of them. I was accepted at one last fall but unable to start due to some financial obligations. I was finally able to start this semester at the other school I had applied to as "insurance".

Take care and hang in there!
