    Hey putmetosleep,

How is the online chemistry class at UNE, any insight would be appreciated?
    Thanks
    Gasthem
The class is going well so far, I have no complaints about the actual course. I'm about 4 weeks away from taking the final (yay!). I am a classroom learner and adjusting to the online format was a little difficult for me at first, but after the first 2 weeks or so I found what works for me and I'm doing well in the class. The instructor is very quick to respond to emails with questions (you can also call her during office hours), and all the quizzes and the final are open book/open notes. I could definitely be putting in a little more study time, but overall it's going well and my grade so far is around a B+. I'm only taking the lecture portion of the course, so it breaks down to quizzes being worth 30% and the final worth 70% of the grade...(I think if you take the lab it's 25%/25%/50%). I'll let you know how the final goes!

Thanks for the insight. One more question, are you allowed to finish earlier than the sixteen weeks?

    Thanks Gasthem

Yep, you are allowed to do it faster or slower..16 weeks is what they recommend (1 week per module--14 total-- plus 2 weeks to study for the final). I'm finding that 1 week per module is pretty right on, esp with a full-time job. I'm only allowing 1 week to study for the final, so I'll finish the course in 15 weeks. Good luck, let me know if there's any other info you need
  4. Thanks for all the info....I have some questions regarding the UNE classes you took. Are they 100% online? What about exams? Are they online, proctored, submitting a paper, etc?... I am great with online classes and even got a masters degree online, and never once so far had to take an exam, so im just curious how it all goes. Also the cost....Sorry, I know its alot, you can PM me plz...THANKS IN ADVANCE
  5. as long as you study the book they send, you can easily got a A.... I did it with both gen chem and org chem, planning to take biochem
    downside, it is expensive

    Hi,
I just finished the course last week (got a B in the class, which is about what I was expecting to get for the amount --or lack thereof--of time I put into the course).
The lectures are online, there's lots of textbook reading, and all of the chapter quizzes are completed online (open book and open notes). The final is a proctored exam, and is also open book and open notes.
    GL!
  7. I took a General, Organic and Biochemistry 4 credit course with lab at Minnesota Southeast State Technical College. It was around $850. It was 16 weeks long and was not self paced. Weekly quizzes were online and the midterm and final were proctored at my local library. It was a good class for me because my previous chem class was 10 years ago, plus I needed a lab credit. It wasn't too bad, considering the subject. I got a B, and was happy with that.
  8. man i just can't stand the prices are so much! i have been investigating all the schools you all have listed along with some others and that is about where the prices are 800-1000...i want to refresh gen chem, as well as take bio/organic. but i can't see paying that kind of money! my bsn courses were only about 100 a credit, online. I am thinking of biting the bullet and just getting no sleep and going to a comm college campus based class, it is only like 30 bucks a credit.

if anyone has an online class that is half cost please pass it on! I didn't realize they would be so expensive!
  9. RN2bAPRN or adamrj8282, which professors at Weber did you have for your online chem classes? I am planning on taking chem 1110 but not sure which professor to take. Also, what were the exams like? Multiple choice and/or essays? Were you able to bring a copy of the periodic table with you to the test? Just want to know what to expect. I am also planning on taking an online AP1 course through a different school and I don't want to over do it.

Also, can you tell me what the exams/quizzes were like? Were they multiple choice and/or essays? Just want to know what to expect. I don't want to over do it since I am also planning on taking an online AP1 course at the same time while working 40+ hours per week.
