Re: Can I take some classes before I actually start the program?
Depends what program. My top choice will allow us to transfer in 12 credits - it's the basic stuff, advanced patho, stats, research, etc., that's mostly part of the NP curriculum as well. I'm taking them now to make my first year a little easier, and possibly allow me to work occasionally PRN (we'll see once I actually start) during the first two didactic semesters. However, my hospital offers tuition reimbursement, so these classes are free for me. If I don't get into my first choice and wherever I go doesn't accept transfer credit, I'm not out any cash. CRNA school is generally full-time, and at my first choice, once clinicals start, they alone take up 40+ hours a week. I know nothing about what's available in MO, however - ask your local choices, it should be a simple yes/no.
