Yale GEPN Applicants 2013 - Page 22
Register Today!- Mar 2 by infinitmeAnother lurker who finally created an account with the site here. I was also accepted for WHNP/CNM. Yale was the program I wanted so I didn't even bother clicking submit on the application for the other two schools I heavily considered. Glad it worked out. Whew!
Cost is definitely an issue. I'm terrified of loans! Grateful for the merit based scholarship and looking forward to seeing what the financial aid package looks like.atomicgirl likes this. - Mar 5 by casecovI am thinking about applying to Yale for 2014. Would anyone mind sharing how much they received in their merit based scholarship?
- Mar 5 by mzaurQuote from atomicgirlI know this is an old post but hopefully you still come to this forum -- could you please post your stats? And your volunteer experience? I will also be applying to psych NP programs. I am mainly worried about my volunteer experience. I did two years in a mental health center for cognitively disabled individuals working under a clinical psychologist, and also two years as a lab manager in a clinical psych research lab (ran many clinical assessments). I am not sure if my volunteer experience is enough for psych NP programs. Should I go volunteer in a hospital or do something else? I plan on applying fall of 2013.I just received an interview for Psych. I feel truly honored...I can hardly believe it. For all those who did not get interviews, don't lose hope! There are many great schools out there. But if you have your heart set on YSN, you can always try again next year with more experience under you. I really believe that we will all end up where we belong.
Thank you - Mar 9 by SaintlyJHi! I was wondering if anyone has any information regarding RN's who apply to the MSN portion at Yale this upcoming Fall, as opposed to the GEPN program. Does anyone have any stats as far as how many apply and get accepted, specifically for FNP? Type of scores, GRE's, and experience? A lot of the information on here seems to be geared towards the GEPN's, which is great, but I wonder if its applicable to RN's applying to the program. Any information anyone may have is greatly appreciated! Thanks!!
- Mar 9 by tadams22I think this forum is specific to the GEPN program. Did you see if there was another specific to the MSN one or Yale School of Nursing in general?
- Mar 9 by SaintlyJYes, I have, and there really isn't too much information that I could find applicable. I suppose I was wondering if any information was mentioned during campus interviews or visits? Thanks!
- Mar 9 by tadams22All they really said was that for the second two years of our program, we are all mixed together.
- Mar 9 by ReInventorHave accepted students received their financial aid/scholarship info? What is the total cost of attendance looking like? I'm interested in applying for 2014 (psych specialty) but am very anxious about the prospect of 6-figure loans.
Also, even though pre-reqs are not technically required, are they still basically expected? Did any accepted students NOT have the traditional pre-reqs done (A&P, micro, etc.)?Last edit by ReInventor on Mar 9 -
- Mar 9 by ReInventorQuote from mzaurIt sounds like we have very similar backgrounds, I have a few years of various volunteer experiences in mental health and by the time I apply I will have more than a year's experience working in psychiatric research. Hopefully this + good academic records is enough!?I know this is an old post but hopefully you still come to this forum -- could you please post your stats? And your volunteer experience?
