Western University_Masters Entry

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

hi everyone,

the application for masters of science (entry) nursing is due on oct 1. my question is- when is the best time to send in the application. i understand the sooner the better. but i am planning on sending my application in the first/second week of september and i was wondering if that is too late?

i am asking this because it states on their website:

"admissions process

[color=#333333]

[color=#333333]to give you peace of mind, we will e-mail you when your application is received. should you be invited to interview, you can expect to hear from us by telephone or email one to three weeks prior to the interview date. "

does that mean they start reviewing the applications as soon as they get it? or all the applications will be reviewed after oct 1st?

thanks guys! good luck!

Hi kritkat! I was chosen as an alternate for this years cohort so I've pretty much been through the ringer with their application cycle! I would submit your app as soon as you finish it. I'm pretty sure they start sifting through applications as they recieve them because they will let you know if your app is complete or not. It won't be late unless you turn it in after Oct. 1. After they send you the email stating it is in fact complete, don't expect to hear from them until Jan/Feb. Thats when interviews start taking place. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks for your response! :nurse:

So they get in touch with you in regards to whether or not your application is complete till Oct 1st. No admission decisions/interviews till Jan/Feb, am I correct?

Congratulations on your admission!

Could you also possibly let me know how the preview day (if you attended) was like?

I appreciate your time into reading this!

Thank you!

No problem :) Im planning on reapplying for next year's cohort since its getting awful close to the first day of class and its not looking too good! Haha.Let me clarify, everyone has until Oct. 1 to turn in their app. I'm not 100% on this, but let's say someone who turned in their app on Oct 1 was missing the acknowledgment of technical standards email. I'm pretty sure that they would email you to let you know it needed to be submitted. Bottom line...if you get everything in on Sept.1 or Oct. 1, it's not going to affect your application. They don't have "priority consideration". I went to preview day last year and it was definitely worth it. It made me fall in love with that school. They give you a tour (you get to see the simulation lab with all the mannequins) they'll talk to you about admissions, and basically give you a run down about EVERYTHING! I would recommend going if you're very interested in this school.
