Can anyone explain the difference between: MSN/health care edu

and MSN/integrative health care ?? at UofP

The descriptions on the website were the same
I had saved the catalogues my academic advisor had sent me when I was deciding on what track to pursue.

After completing the core curriculum there are classes specific to the degree. In the MSN/ED there are 4 courses geared specifically to the role of the educator, teaching and learning, curriculum design and development and assessment and evaluation.
For the intetgrative health care degree there are three classes after comlpleting the core courses: Integrative Health Care: A New Paradigm, Overview of Integrative Therapies, Strategies for Implementing Integrative Health Care

I earned my MSN in 2000 from UOP. I highly recommend going this route for education or management. They've changed alot since I was in the program, for the better I think. One other nurse from my hospital just finished the program, she said they have a lot more interaction with the other students in the program now. I'd love to go into nursing education...but can't afford the pay cut I'd have to take...so have yet to change out of management. UOP is the way to go as far as I'm concerned!

By the way, as far as expense goes, when I took into consideration:tuition/fees/books/wear&tear on car/having to juggle work schedule&class schedule/having to actually attend a class (rather than working in jammies)/time spent away from family/ability to take classes when I wanted/.........I thought UOP was more of a bargain than the traditional classroom!

I appreciate all the comments on your decision to attend UoP. It was never an option for me because I'm in a FNP program which they don't offer. Being such a huge online school with a great deal of recognition I wasn't certain if it would be the best choice no matter what track I chose, but seeing your posts here has changed my mind.

Good luck to you all with your studies and future careers!

I finished my first course and am in the first week of the second. (going for MSN/MHA). I am actually enjoying it! There are definite time requirements. You need to be online at least 4 times a week for a significant amount of time to post answers to discussion questions. But the interaction with classmates is very stimulating. I was hesitant to get back into academics, but it is doable if you have the desire. To anyone thinking about this program...don't be afraid! Go for it!

I finished in 2005 and thought the education very helpful. It is intense though but well worth the effort

Hello. Are we talking about their online MSN program or the actual campus-based program?

I am going to begin classes in August of this year in the MSN/ED program.
I would love to hear from different people who are in different stages of the program and what they have liked and hated.
I AM NOT INTERRESTED IN HEARING FROM PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT GONE THROUGH THE PROGRAM AND ONLY WANT TO SAY BAD THINGS ABOUT THE SCHOOL.
I hope other U of P alumni will get involved and help us with any sticky situations that arise and offer their wisdom.
Thanks,

Maybe doing sometype of staff/mother-baby educating in relations to the psychological/physicalogical aspects of the birthing process. Educating apprehensive moms/dads, particularly first time familes, in dealing/understanding the whole birthing experience. Just a suggestion...Hope this helps.
