Anyone apply for the Summer MSN or fall DNP? I receved an email stating we will hear back on tax day.... I'm a little nervous now.

You are right, it will be nice to know either way lol. I'm quite a ways from Alabama, so my letter probably won't get to me until Wed or Thurs :(. I have heard of a lot of people who got accepted and did not receive phone calls...so I wouldn't worry about that. I didn't feel too positive after my call so it might not be a good thing lol. Good luck to you all!

Hi, I just received my acceptance letter for Family DNP Fall 2012 program. I am a bit concerned after reading a few negative blogs about people dropping out and not having support throughout the program. Has anyone heard anything positive about the program, or is there anyone out there currently in the program who could give some information? Thanks!

Congrats linzybinzy! I also have heard some negatives but a lot of positives as well. I think that like with any program, some people will not fit in with the style of teaching, work load, etc etc. I read a lot of comments about students not having support throughout the program as well. During my undergraduate years, I realized that quite a few people want to be spoon fed by teachers throughout classes. USA is quite up front about the fact that students have to go through the process of finding and setting up clinical sites. I think that one can assume that online classes demand a lot of self-motivation and flexibility in learning. I would like to hear more about how these students felt they did not receive support by the school.

Thanks CassB! I'm also not in Alabama, so am a little concerned about finding preceptors, especially since I am just graduating from a BSN program and have not started working as an RN yet. I feel I have limited contacts at the moment! Have you heard back yet?

I haven't heard yet. My mail doesn't get to me until after 4:30pm...ugh lol. I work at a mental health outpatient clinic so I am hoping that one of the CNS's here will be willing to be my preceptor. I'm not going to worry about that until I know whether I am in or not lol. If I were you, I would just do some research and maybe make a list of Psych NP's and CNS's near you just to get the ball rolling and see who you may like to consider as a preceptor. Also, I believe I read somewhere that a psychiatrist can precept students for a certain amount of hours...so that may be helpful if I'm correct about that.

I just got my letter. I was accepted to bsn to dnp emergency! So happy

I didn't get into the DNP program. I am not sad because I did get into the MSN! My classes begin the end of May. Can't wait!

Thanks Rachela! I will re-apply after doing a few semesters in the program. That way I can just transition over.

I received my acceptance letter yesterday! I will be in the Family Psychiatric NP BSN-DNP program. It looks like we don't have to travel to campus for orientation either, which is GREAT! Hope I'm interpreting that right from what I read lol. I would love to speak to anyone else that will be starting this program in the fall! Congrats to everyone! Looks like we will all be going to USA this fall so far. :)

Congrats CassB!! I confirmed with the university that we will not have to go to Mobile this year. Working on my admissions packet now :)

I just got my letter as well! I will be starting the FNP/DNP program in the fall. I live in Denver, CO right now and would be interested to have a study partner if anyone is close.
