University of Rochester - ABPNN Fall 2013

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Hi, just thought I'd start a thread for University of Rochester's ABPNN Fall 2013 applicants...

Hey nermface-- Thanks! Good luck on Friday!! Let us all know how it went. Hopefully it goes well~

Where else are you applying to? I applied to MCPHS and got accepted yesterday! I'm just still weighing my options with Rochester.. but unfortunately I hear we don't find out if we're accepted until May! :o

Good luck! Does anyone know about how many are accepted? I didn't find any numbers online and was curious.

Cheers and congratulations, starfish! I've also applied to CSUSM, UMD (traditional track), a small school in Virginia (Shenandoah), and Kent State. UR is definitely my reach school :wacky: The wait is gonna be so dreadful!

Hopeful, I've read somewhere that UR usually lets 180 students in per academic year; so generally 60 per cohort. But I've also read somewhere that they had admitted over 100 once... buuuut I'm not sure if that was before or after the three cohort.

Nice! I wonder how many apply! Thanks for the info.

It took about 1-3 days after my documents arrived for it to change the online status. I got a call today and my Interview is March 12. Im glad everyone says the interviews are not that bad (NERVOUS!) I asked and I was told that they do not interview everyone, only studnets who are "qualified". How old is everyone applying? Im going to be 24 in June. Im Canadian and im currently living in Florida taking classes. Gonna FREEEEEZE if I get in haha. I was told around 300 students apply and they take 50. But everyone seems to have different answers so who knows! Lets all just cross our fingers and hope for the best =) Almost all the schools that I am applying to do not give you an admissions answer until after May. U of South Florida's application isnt due until May 1st, so who knows when I would find out from them. Im hoping for Rochester though, great school and reputation. I was looking at housing online the other day and it is pretty reasonable. All medical students live in the "white coat district" Im getting excited!! So anyone know how I can PM people? It says I cant? Thanks! -D

Hey all, so my interview was last Friday. I think it went well, but I definitely over-prepared. I'm at the point where I am dissecting every moment! Waiting until mid-May/June is going to be dreadful! Good luck, all!

The interview was not too thorough? I heard its pretty laid back. Ive been preparing for mine as well, I have it this upcoming Tuesday...exciting and nervous!!! We wont know until may/june!!! crazyness!

Yep, was very chill. Definitely seemed like a job interview more than anything. Good luck to you!

Today's the day for the big interview!!! Excited and nervous! I def prepared and I hope I over prepared haha =)

I will let everyone know how it goes! Have a lot of you had your interview yet? I was reading a feed from the Fall 2012 program and someone said they only interview 200 students and take 60? Not sure if things changed or what? But hey we made it this far!

Good Luck Everyone!:)

Oh and does anyone know a good paces to look for scholarships? I am an international student, No financial aid for me  !!!

Ive checked a lot of the standard ones online, but you need to be american for most.

Hey there, hope your interview went well! How do you feel about it now? In my interview, I was told that it had been the lowest number of applicants in recent cohorts... as opposed to the normal 300+ UR only received a little less than 200 for this fall.

Anyway, I can't really help you on the scholarships... I've only researched the ones listed on Johnson & Johnson's page and whatever was linked to URs page. May I ask where you are coming from?

Hello everyone!

I was just called for a phone interview. I live in NC but my fiance's mom is moving back to Rochester so I'm excited about the prospect of living with her, if I get in. A part of me is freaking out though, is a phone interview bad? Or are they doing it as a courtesy so I won't have to travel? Most other schools I've heard invite students to interview AT the school. Has everyone else at interviews in Roc or by phone? I'm panicking inside. Help!?!
