topics for literature review

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Hi! I'm interested in writing a literature review during my (off-school) summer season. Teachers tell me to focus on what I find interesting. Well, I'm interested in hyaluronic acid as it relates to wound care and a fellow classmate comments that this kind of lit review won't get me published. I'd love to hear other people's comments. And where can I get a mentor since it's off-school season?

Do a search of some of the databases (i. e. CINAHL) to see if enough articles have been published on this topic. If you find only a couple, you might want to rethink your topic.

Look carefully at the criteria for journals to which you would consider submitting your article. You should be able to tell from the types of articles they publish whether or not yours would be suitable. I don't agree with your classmate. The only way you will find out if you could publish the piece would be to try.

You might have trouble getting faculty to mentor you if you aren't registered for a class. Maybe you could sign up for an independent study or do this to fulfill some of the requirements for your degree.
