Summer Entry 2013 Accelerated BSN/MSN Johns Hopkins

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Hi everyone,

How many of you have applied for the 2013 Accelerated BSN/MSN program at JHU SON? I applied early decision and completed my phone interview on the 26th. They said they will start making decisions calls around the December 15th which is a Saturday so I'm sure we won't hear anything until the 17th or later.

Is anyone else as anxious as I am to hear back from them? I even made a vision board on my fridge that reads: I WILL GET ACCEPTED INTO THE JOHNS HOPKINS BSN/MSN PROGRAM STARTING SUMMER 2013. Positive thoughts work, right? :saint:

FYI: I also applied to Columbia, Ohio State, and UCLA.

@hopefulnurse, just curious but why fall and not summer??

Well, first and foremost, I am graduating in May so a break would be nice, not to mention I'm still going to be paying rent on my apartment through July! But also, I've read on here in past years threads that most people who start in the summer have to drop back and do the fall cohort's curriculum because it is too much... so I figured fall would just be better anyways.

Oh yeah I completely get that; a break between undergrad and grad is a good idea. My break has been over 2 years now so I'm anxious to get back to school :)

Damn..when you say 'most people hold back' that's a big statement. I hope there's a reason they have the summer entry running cause people are finishing off in time. Plus I would say most people are not even on this website telling if they got accepted. It's just a bunch who have a hard time with the program and I won't be surprised if there are a few in every year's class that hold back. But I wouldn't say most. It is accelerated either way..either you handle the pressure or not. Sorry I am not trying to argue or anything but I think it isn't true. You actually scared me as it sounded like out of 100 students 70 of them hold back lol. But I hope we all will get through since it's a huge commitment.

If you look on past years threads, it has been stated that most of the summer students do fall back to the fall term. I'm just stating what many of us have already read - the summer term is very challenging and it's a lot to handle. But they aren't "held back", they just lessen their load of classes and graduate a little later.

did everyone get the email about the online chat on wednesday 12/19..I might ask about the regular decision announcements but i dont want to be too pushy..so ill probably just read over the chat..

Yeah I got the email, too. I may ask, but I also don't want to seem too pushy. I also have questions on financial aid so I will definitely be there.

I'm definitely going to ask about when they're notifying regular decision, haha!

Hi lovely people,

I know most of you are still waiting for your call/letters (hang in there!) but for those who have been accepted into the program, which acceptance day are you planning to attend? March or April? I would love to put a face with a name and perhaps grab a drink or two.

At this point, I am planning on going to the March session. I'd like to go for 4-5 days so that I can secure an apartment and check out the school and city.

My thoughts exactly. Are you going to check out 929 Apartments? They are probably way out of my price range.

I didn't get the chat email but am going to crash it anyway, heheh.

I think the regular decision process is unusually behind schedule this year. I turned everything in by Nov. 15 and got an email today saying my application is complete and that "[COLOR=#1f497d]Decision letters will be mailed beginning March 2013." For those of you who submitted everything in much ealier than I did, I hope that they inform you sooner than that.

By the way, is anyone else applying to the Peace Corps Fellows program?
