Summer Entry 2013 Accelerated BSN/MSN Johns Hopkins

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Hi everyone,

How many of you have applied for the 2013 Accelerated BSN/MSN program at JHU SON? I applied early decision and completed my phone interview on the 26th. They said they will start making decisions calls around the December 15th which is a Saturday so I'm sure we won't hear anything until the 17th or later.

Is anyone else as anxious as I am to hear back from them? I even made a vision board on my fridge that reads: I WILL GET ACCEPTED INTO THE JOHNS HOPKINS BSN/MSN PROGRAM STARTING SUMMER 2013. Positive thoughts work, right? :saint:

FYI: I also applied to Columbia, Ohio State, and UCLA.

Hi all,

I was accepted for the BSN/MSN Acute Care with a Fall start date (I received a letter via snail mail today and a phone call on Friday morning!). I was also offered the Fuld Scholarship and I was wondering if anyone had any information about this scholarship. Also, I didn't get around to applying for the merit scholarship and I'm hoping that I will have the opportunity to apply for that next year or the year after (before starting the Master's portion)?

Congrats to everyone else accepted!

All students are considered for the merit scholarship. I am currently in the 17 month program and I am a Fuld Fellow. Message me and I can fill you in on the details of Fuld :)

Just wanted everyone to know there are two groups on Facebook for accepted students:

Johns Hopkins School of Nursing May 2013 Cohort

and

Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing Class of 2014 (Fall)

They are closed groups but I think you can request to join? Lots of good info in them!

I was offered the Fuld Fellowship as well today via snail mail :) so happy and excited! I can't believe it!

Congrats hopeful! I was really hoping to get the Fuld Fellowship too. I'll have to see if I have any good snail mail today.

Hi cnp2012! I also got the fuld scholarship and was wondering if you could PM me and tell me more about it :) For some reason, I can't PM you.

Hi everyone, I just joined this thread and happy to have found this community. I was accepted for the Accelerated BSN/MSN program with a summer start date. I'll be flying out for the accepted students day on April 19th. I'm from Northern California and thought I'd stay for the weekend to check out the area and apartments. Does anyone have recommendations on places to stay?

I've been accepted to the Fall BSN program. Missed the call this morning, luckily they left a message. 4.0 post-bacc GPA (finished with half the pre-reqs), 3.6 bacc GPA, and some not-so-stellar grades from early on in my undergraduate coursework.

For those of you on Facebook there are two different groups for both the Fall and Summer entry. Great way to connect with classmates!!

I received my acceptance phone call this afternoon! I'm so happy to have been given this opportunity, but I don't think I can afford the tuition for only a BSN. I wish I would have submitted my application for the BSN/MSN program. I wonder if it's too late....does anyone know?

Hey AlmondB! The cost for the BSN is the same regardless of whether you only do the BSN, or the BSN/MSN. The MSN is an additional cost with a separate cost of attendance/tuition statement, if that makes sense. It is probably too late to apply to the MSN. I would wait until you receive your financial aid package to discount Hopkins based on price alone though!

Thanks for the response hopefulnurse24. What I meant to say is that I don't feel comfortable paying that much for a degree that will put me on equal salary ground with all RNs. I'm afraid I'll be swimming in debt for a long time...whereas if I'd feel more confident in my ability to pay off my loans if I were to be locked into an advanced degree track. Does that make sense?
