Summer Entry 2013 Accelerated BSN/MSN Johns Hopkins

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Hi everyone,

How many of you have applied for the 2013 Accelerated BSN/MSN program at JHU SON? I applied early decision and completed my phone interview on the 26th. They said they will start making decisions calls around the December 15th which is a Saturday so I'm sure we won't hear anything until the 17th or later.

Is anyone else as anxious as I am to hear back from them? I even made a vision board on my fridge that reads: I WILL GET ACCEPTED INTO THE JOHNS HOPKINS BSN/MSN PROGRAM STARTING SUMMER 2013. Positive thoughts work, right? :saint:

FYI: I also applied to Columbia, Ohio State, and UCLA.

I'm regular decision and I was interviewed in October, I'm not sure if there's really a rhyme or reason to any of it. :)

I'm also regular decision and I was interviewed in October, and was told I'd hear a decision within 6-weeks..but then I called after the 6th week and they said by dec 15th..

And are they really mailing out decisions? Typically they call...

When I called they said Hopkins would do both call and mail. My guess is that if you're accepted you get a call and a letter. On the other hand if one gets rejected they only get a letter..

December 15th! Oh my gosh! I kinda wish I had applied for Fall now instead of summer...

So... only early decision notifications are sent/called for by December 15th right? I feel like regular decision would be notified later right?

Oh that's probably true. Okay less excited now. Although after my interview she said they'd let me know for sure by March but most likely 6 weeks after it and I applied regular decision.

I definitely wouldn't complain if they gave the notifications earlier though! :)

I'm kind of confused by everything that I'm hearing, between you all and what I've heard from admissions. I applied for fall and not summer, and NOT early decision, and when I interviewed she told me that I would hear before December 15th and no later than the January deadline. I called someone who works in the front office in November, and she told me that I would hear within the week that I called her in, but it was likely that I would hear by December 15th, no later than the January deadline though. Then I emailed someone who had been helping me out with questions throughout the application cycle, and he told me that I probably wouldn't hear until the end of January/early February, possibly even March. So I have NO idea when I should be expecting to hear, and I'm very confused... so I'm going to call and find out for sure, because I'm very lost and I feel like for interviewing in October, even though I am a regular decision fall applicant, I don't think I should have to wait until March. Hopefully I can get some thorough answers by tomorrow!

Let me know what they tell you Hopeful! Odd thing too... even though I had an in-person interview on Nov 28th by a nursing admissions counselor...I received an email from a faculty member in the midwifery specialty and asked if I could set up an interview during the first week of January. I responded to the email asking if this is a follow-up interview but it's been a week and she has not responded. So I'm totally unclear what is going on here... =\

I am glad that it wasn't just me who was getting confusing vibes! I will definitely keep you posted on what I hear from them tomorrow!

Hi everyone!

This is all very confusing, no? I applied for Fall 2013 entry to the aBSN/FNP program for early decision and had my interview in mid-November. I got a call yesterday saying that my application was going to be placed in the regular decision pool. This raises a few questions:

1. Is everyone who is not accepted for early decision moved to regular decision? From posts, I get the impression this is the case, but from my phone conversation with JHU yesterday, the admissions women said, "this isn't a NO, they could have flat our rejected your application but you are instead being moved to regular decision." Does anyone know anything about the process? (Side note: now I have to wait till MARCH to hear...that is painful!)

2. Has anyone else gotten a call like mine?

I will keep you all updated as I find out more information. I emailed admissions asking them the same question, but I imagine it will take while for them to get back to me because of this crazy time of year.

Good luck to everyone! I wish this wasn't so stressful!
