Samuel Merritt ELMSN/FNP Fall 2013 Sacramento

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Hi Everyone, I haven't seen this thread yet and as the application date (July 1) looms closer I thought I would start one. I am interested to know who is applying, what your undergraduate degree of study was and why you are now going into nursing? I'm taking the TEAS tomorrow!!!

So I will answer my own questions; My name is Darcy, my Bachelor's degree is in gerontology. My plan is to work with the elderly, hopefully in hospice. FNP is the next logical step for me.

thanks!

Hi JeninCA! I am happy the waiting game is over, I just graduated from UC Davis, and still having a shot is wonderful.so very grateful. I think she said something under 20, I was so excited I barely remember what she said, I just hear wait-list and smiled! She said the waitlist goes till 39 I think? She also mentioned she can have my app sent over to oakland for their cycle which I jumped and said yes please! still have hope, many people applied to multiple programs, so if accepted could not accept, and I am sure that goes for the waitlist too!

Specializes in Oncology.

Congrats, chlochlo. Hopefully you will get the "you're absolutely accepted" call soon.

Chlochlo- when was your interview?

Congrats to everyone that has been accepted/waitlisted! And fingers crossed for those who haven't heard back yet.

I know you guys probably haven't gotten your checklist yet, but for those who need to get medical stuff done and don't have insurance, I found an inexpensive place here in Sac to get blood titers/physical/tb testing done. I'm sure it's against terms of use to say a name, but if anyone is interested feel free to pm me and I will tell you the name. I was freaking out at the cost when I searched online, but was able to get everything I needed done here for less than $200. I figured there was probably at least one other person on here who would be in the same predicament!

also- they said in our interview that one year they went all the way thru the waitlist.... so never give up hope!!!

Aww thank you guys for all the kind words! I really appreciate it :) My interview was the first wave on sept 8 from 10 to 12! Were you in my group? Yes I think your right, I doubt that will necessarily happen but you never know! Thankfully oakland has its cycle coming up so I feel that as long as I keep reapplying I can squeeze my way in! I have a job at the University for the next year so I feel content :) Thanks for your guys positive words! Keep me posted on everything! Congrats for wait-list and acceptances!

That's true I think that might be one reason the wait list is 39 people. Alot of people applied to different programs within samuel merritt and other universities so they can go through acceptances and waitlisters quickly! Thanks again for your positive energy! I hope everyone finds out soon!

Does anyone know when they will be done with the acceptance/wait list calls / emails? They haven't called or emailed me yet.... Im getting worried :(

Does anyone know if anyone from the first day 1-3 interview get accepted or wait listed?

Wow, congrats to all you who have gotten accepted/waitlisted. I'm getting worried too, kimevans711. Try to stay optimistic guys!

kimevans711 and epark87: i'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of us !! hopefully we will find out soon.

Stay positive everyone!! Goodluck!
