Re: Samuel Merritt ELMSN Fall 2009 Interviews!
Jesa, what you're describing is a counseling appointment. They're extremely helpful and can help you present yourself as a strong applicant, but this was not an admissions interview. I think it is strange that you have heard nothing, however, and I suggest you call SMU Monday if you have not received a letter.
Teri and Suzanne, who interviewed the group I was in, designed the ELMSN-FNP group interview and seemed very proud of their creation... to the point where I doubt they would admit a student without subjecting them to this "test" of sorts. There are things they're looking for in the group interview, although even after my interview I couldn't tell you necessarily what qualities those are. I do know that there is no single "ideal candidate," as many people in my group brought different experiences and education to the table. Without a doubt, everyone was impressive and very motivated, regardless of their specific background.
I wish I could apply to the Sac campus, but I can't relocate and the commute would be unbearable given the intensity of the program.
