Hello all...I've searched through and found that some of you have or are currently in the RODP program for FNP through Tennessee...can anyone update me on this? Do you like it? Would you recommend it/do it again? Im hoping to get my home school of MTSU...also for those of you that know..do you have to have some classes such as adv pharm and assessment done first? I can't get definitive answers through the website..Thanks so much!

I don't know if anyone has started a facebook group or not. I am also attending through ETSU. This will be my second semester. I am taking Pharm, Patho, and Health Assessment. If Research is the hardest class, I am glad that I got it out of the way first!

I will be attending through ETSU as well. This is my first semester and I'm taking Theory and Patho. Good luck to all of us! I'm nervous and excited! I just ordered a few of the textbooks last night from Amazon.com...getting a couple used books and going to try renting a couple also. There are quite a few books for the Theory class! Hopefully i'll have my books before class starts...next week.

Hi I saw your post stating you live in North Carolina and justbwanted to give you a heads up. I am in the RODP program as well and am starting clinicals this summer. I live in TN now but am supposed to be moving to NC this fall. My advisor just informed me that RODP students cannot do clinicals in NC because the school isn't registered with the UNC program. I just got the email today and need it get in touch with someone to see if she is right, but I thought I'd let you know ASAP since you are starting the program.

HI Rachel, I couldn't leave you a PM, so I am posting my response to you here. It sounds like your school is the one deciding where you can do clinical. That is their rule I feel sure. I can't see the NCBON having that authority as they are not involved in our clinical experiences. The cert exams are National exams and are not associated with the state until you need to use your certification to work here. Then the state has rules we have to follow. I finished in August of 2013 and took and passed my certification exam in Raleigh at one of the sites used for testing. The certifying body, AANP, I tested with decided that, not NC. You may want to consider transferring to another school unless you do not mind the Tenn clinicals. Do you know for sure if it is an accredited school? In Asheville, you may be close enough to commute. I was considering driving to Va as I am not too terribly far, and I thought I needed more adolescent experience and could not find a site here. Good luck and if you decide to transfer, you can get some credit for work already done at another school. Barinbass

I'm taking Patho with ETSU this summer (May) and Pharm & Roles in Aug, ETSU will be my home school, doing this while working FT at the VA will be tough. I did my BSN through ETSU but that was with not working the last 3 semesters. I hope I can do it. Also gotta try and get the clinicals lined up.

I've applied to TSU RODP fall 14 and is waiting on my acceptance letter! I'm anxious and nervous how long did it take to get an acceptance letter

Hi all! Anyone here know someone doing the RODP MSN in Healthcare Administration program?

Specializes in Pediatrics, Med-Surg, Infectious Disease.

I was accepted for Spring FNP at Etsu. Any suggestions on class selection for 1st semester? Thanks

Hi. Its been a while since I have posted on this form. I went to TSU for their on ground MSN in holisitic nursing and my first semester was Spring 2014, I only took pathophysiology. I was working full time until February when I went parttime. The one class was very doable and I actually could have taken more than one class and done just fine. I took a break this summer and have decided to switch to APSU RODP FNP because of several different reasons. Right now I am debating on taking 2 classes or 3 classes since I don't work that often.

Hi congratulations again to people who got accepted to RODP!

As a student who about to graduate next year with BSN, I was wondering if I can receive some suggestions about preparing for the application to RODP!

Is really the case that I have to have at least 2 year work experience as nurse before I can be considered? What can I do as of now and on to make myself a strong candidate with good portfolio for the program?! Any suggestions? Thanks soooo much for the help!!

When I was accepted I had less than 1 year experience.
