- Mar 10, '12 by abz7879Is anybody interested in carpooling from surrounding cities by Milwaukee? I live an hour and a half north right now, but am planning to move further south (1.5h might be too much of a commute). I don't want to live in the city of Milwaukee, and am hoping to choose a town where another student lives. Let me know if you can!
- Mar 10, '12 by uwbadger12Where is everyone looking to live? My parents live only 45 min away so I may commute for a little while until I can find a place but has anyone heard/found out what rent prices are like in the area?
- Mar 10, '12 by uwbadger12And abz I would be interested in carpooling but my parents live in Burlington!
- Mar 10, '12 by wpolorockerI rented a one bedroom on the east side for a little under $800/month. Parking costs extra though ($50-100). There were one bedrooms near campus for that price or cheaper, but the area was really sketchy. There is this annoying rent assistance program that means a lot of places are advertised ad cheaper than they really are, and full time students don't qualify. I even had a couple of buildings tell me they didn't allow students to live there at all. I was only able to look one weekend though, since I am out of state.
- Mar 10, '12 by uwbadger12Gotcha. Thanks! I have a friend who goes to Marquette for undergrad and she said she can find out more about grad student apts as well. I'm hoping to find something a little cheaper (with a roommate if possible). Just because I won't be able to work during this program so I'll be tight on money... Ha
- Mar 10, '12 by wpolorockerI would have been looking for something cheaper too, but I have a built-in roommate (boyfriend).
