MAN, MSN, MPH or Master of International Health

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

I would like to ask for opinions about the masteral degree I am going to take. I am a Filipino RN who just got licensed in 2013 with no work experience yet. If I do get a hospital-based job, I am planning to eventually enroll in the University of the Philippines Open University and take Master of International Health. I am attracted to the program's multidisciplinary/broad take on addressing health problems of low to middle income nations. I am particulary inclined to knowing how international health N/GOs operate and eyeing to join one in the future. However, I would like to know the pros and cons of taking this degree vs. Master of Pubic Heath, Master of Arts in Nursing, or MSN. In addition, would you please share some insights on how to handle work and study at the same time. I believe your first year as a staff nurse is really challenging, so I'm not sure if I can handle the additional stress of studying at this stage.
