So far, it is going well. I really can't complain. About halfway thru my first year. Lots of work, but worth it in the end.

I graduated from Walden in 2007 with an MS degree. I was recently contacted by the University that if I want the MSN designation they will change my diploma and transcripts. So it looks as though the alumni will be grandfathered in to the MSN degree.

Just a quick update for those that are following this thread. I graduated from Walden's MSN Program two weeks ago. I can tell you that the portfolio and practicum almost killed me! But in the end, I could see the value of both experiences. I was very pleased with the entire program. Learned a heck of a lot that is for sure. Now - looking and researching PhD programs - so here we go again. I will do my PhD with a ground based university though.

Thank you for sharing! I have 3 classes left at Walden. I took a much-needed 'vacation' from Walden for one 8-week session in anticipation up the upcoming stress. Hope to be done in February.

CONGRATULATIONS! I am so excited for you! I have two more core classes then I start my education specialization classes. Any tips for the portfolio and practicum? Did they grade really hard on the portfolio? how does the practicum really work?
Sorry for the questions, but I am really excited to actually be starting the spec classes in January. Just any encouragement is really helpful....

Shari,
It is so much nicer during the specialization courses-practical and applicable! My focus is also Education.
