The Univeristy of Iowa, College of Nursing got rid of GRE's a couple of years ago. they found that high scores did not necessarily coorelate with how well a student did.

And that decision is supported by evidence in the form of repeated quantitative studies including a few meta analysis reviews. Good for them!

I am interested in either a DNS or PhD program that does not require GRE testing for admission -
I am considering online programs University of Arizona and Nova Southeastern in Florida both have Phd programs online - that I believe do not require the GRE -
Any feedback about these programs???

I think the first thing you really need to decide is if you want a PhD or a DNP, because they are very different learning experiences with fairly different goals.

My coworkers at Nova really like the nursing programs. I have heard really great things about Nova.

What do you want to know about Nova?

Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN does not require the GRE and offers a special MAN in Transformational Leadership & Transcultural Nursing. They are known for their international experiences and opportunities. They are working at developing a DNP .. hopefully to have it implemented by fall 2009

Western Govenor's University does not require the GRE

Offers MSN-Educational Specialist, MSN in Leadership and Management

All classes are online in a self-paced format (no having to get on 4 days a week like U of P) and it is fairly cheap-$3295 every six months. Check it out at www.wgu.edu

California State University San Marcos is starting a MSN program in the August of 2009 that does not require the GRE.
