How hard is it (really) to get into CRNA school?

Nursing Students Post Graduate

I really do not believe I would ever get to the point of actually applying to CRNA school, but I just have a curiosity. I've read other places and have read on here that competition for CRNA school is fierce and only a handful of applicants are chosen. But I also heard the same thing about the LPN program I went to (I would hear that out of 200 applicants only 15 were chosen. The first time I applied, I was chosen.) Then for the RN program here I heard that there were several hundred applicants every year but I got in the first try on that one, too. I'm not a particularly bright student, mostly B's with a few A's. I now hear from an experienced nurse in the ICU that CRNA schools will take just about anyone with a year in the ICU and a pulse. If this is the case, that's great news for someone like me...what's the deal?
