What kind of help do you need specifically? Are you using the long or short form? Do you have the textbook with the assessment forms in it?

Hi
I am a nursing re- entry student in Canada. I am doing it correspondance and am very frustrated with the lack of support. I am doing the course: "nursing the childbearing family" and have to do an family assessment on any family I want. I have a few guidlines about questions to ask, but that is it. I do not have a textbook other than "maternal nursing" for this course and could do with any help you can offer.
Thanks
Steyntjie

I wish I could help you, but I loaned my textbook out to a desperate student, and she hasn't returned it. I don't know anyone who has been able to find the assessment forms online, to be honest. You might want to ask your instructor to give you a copy for the assignment. Best wishes to you.

I started this thread when I was taking "Family & Community" last semester. I have not checked out this thred in while. I see that others were on here as well needing help, and I feel bad that I did not realize it! So......if anyone else ever needs help with the Friedman Family Assessment Model, just PM me. I never did find an online version of the long form, but maybe I can offer some assistance!!!!!!

I am doing a Family health risk appraisal and would love to have a template for an ecomap and/or genogram if anyone has one.

Here you go. This has a free 7 day trial period, and you can do your ecomap/genograms with it. It's a pretty cool program. If I remember correctly, you have to copy/paste into Paint to print out for some reason.

Thanks BBFRN for giving banynurse11 info for a trial! In our Family & Community class we were required to use the GenoPro genomap program for our Friedman Family Assessment Model. Our instructors sent us a password to enter that would give us a free 90 day trial for the program. Alot of us in the class did not like this program very much. Entering the information and getting the genogram moved around so that it would fit onto an 11X8 piece of paper was quite time consuming. However, the printed genogram turned out to be very nice. It was very detailed, colorful and easy to read.

I used the GenoPro myself, before I realized Smartdraw had the genogram, too. I know exactly what you mean, ccu.

Hi. Do you still have the ecomap and genogram templates? If so would you mind sending them to me? Thanks. Also, so do you have the Calgary family assessment form?

HI! I am new to this site and finishing up my 1st year 1 semester of my phD program.
Yes, I feel all of the same sentiments as everyone on this thread...
having difficultly locating the model for family assessment by Friedman w/o finding or buying the book directly. I would love any help. ....someone I believed had possibly scanned the model? or any ideas. would love and appreciate the help. THANK YOU.
