Does anyone know of a good starting place to research DNP online programs with an informatics concentration?

can i ask what DNP?

what is a DNP?

DNP = Doctorate Nurse Practitioner

Specializes in Critical Care, ED, Cath lab, CTPAC,Trauma.
what is a DNP?

  1. DNP

  2. The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) is a terminal professional degree that focuses on the clinical aspects of a disease process. The curriculum for the DNP degree generally includes advanced practice, diagnoses, and treatment of diseases.

  3. [h=3]Doctor of Nursing Practice[/h]

DNPs are in specialty tracks that relate to direct patient care (mostly the Advanced Practice RN roles) or in the care of populations/communities (public health nursing, etc). Not all nursing disciplines fall under the guidelines of the DNP Essentials. For example, the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (which conceived the DNP degree and wrote the Essentials of the DNP) have said that 'nursing education' as a field does not fall under the DNP rubric as the field is not focused on direct care of individuals or populations.

Specializes in Adult Nurse Practitioner.

The advent of the DNP is for nurses in the clinical side. You may need to look at DNSc or PhD.

After some additional research, some DNP programs that offer an executive/administrative leader track consider informatics as a qualifying concentration. Duke University offers a DNP program with a health informatics concentration; program cost is a significant factor in my case.

Find a school offering a DNP who also offer a MSN in informatics, they will have the resources. Informatics is clinical nursing, a phd is for research. Informatics specialists are clinicians who have a strong technological aspect . It is still nursing practice, not research.
