Ugh...mother!
When I took the FAFSA quiz on whether I was a dependent or not they said that I wasn't so it's really confusing....plus, I'm still an undergrad so it's not like I have my tax info at hand with me at school
grrrr

Can you ask your financial aid people at school? I hope it's not the case! I know it "encouraged" me to share info about my parents, but i didn't HAVE too... it wasn't the same for you? They basically said you HAD to share it?

I got an email from Judy Wolfe this morning telling me to send grades for fall semester, but it also said that they're finishing up their last few weeks of reviews and that decisions will be out by the first week in Feb! Ahhhh I can't wait!

Oh I know...has anyone else been checking the status of their application neurotically, hoping that they've made a decision before the first week of February?

Uhhhh...yes! What's so confusing though is that there's no hard and fast deadline for the FAFSA info and I'm fairly sure that they don't send admissions decisions without the financial aid package, so what happens, we just wait until mr. slacker applicant gets his stuff in?

Where are you checking the status of your application? On the apply yourself website? b/c it just says submitted, but will it show the decision once it's been made?

Yes, I don't know if it'll show the decision once it's been made but I've been checking it ever since I got that email to check back periodically. Maybe I'm just hoping it'll be posted sooner rather than later.

I applied last year and it looks like they're still using the same application website. It won't tell you your admission status - you'll have to wait for an actual physical copy of the acceptance letter to come in the mail. Historically, Columbia hasn't been very good at getting those out when they say they will. Best of luck to everyone

Thanks for the info...it looks like I just have to stalk my mail carrier starting the first week of February! How do you like the program, fnp4me? I also applied to the fnp specialty.

Thanks fnp4me! Looks like I'll be stalking my postman as well Liz. Is Columbia your first choice? Did you apply anywhere else? Penn's my first choice, but I'd gladly go anywhere that accepts me at this point. I applied for PNP.
