Thank you so much dg, you have been helpful beyond comprehension. I've also been looking online for grocery stores and found that there is a Stop & Shop at 5716 Broadway in the Bronx which sounds like it is close to the Target. I use Stop & Shop up here in Boston, but most of the time I actually order my groceries online from their service called peapod and have them delivered...it's amazing. Unfortunately, although there is a store close and they do deliver in NY, it seems that they do not deliver to the area!!! Who knows, hopefully they will start. Anyway, I also found several other online shopping sites such as freshdirect.com which is only a $5 delivery charge, seems to be extremely popular in NYC, and has been going for several years. I also saw another one called MaxDelivery Manhattan (maxdelivery.com) that delivers to the area for $3 and for free in one hour if you spend $75...pretty sweet! Anyway, I figured that it might be helpful considering that people are lugging groceries 15 or 30 minutes by train. I tell you, once you've had groceries delivered for the price public transportation would have cost....you don't go back! : )

Glad to help. I know that making this decision was one of the hardest things I ever did -- there was so much to consider. But it's been absolutely the right decision for me. Nursing isn't for everyone; New York City isn't for everyone; and Columbia isn't for everyone. I just want to give my opinion as I see it to help people make the best decision for them.

Good luck !

Didn't they state that notifications would be mailed on February 1st? That gives me a good 3-4 mailing days out here to California. I'll post news as soon as I receive it.

Good luck, everyone!

I live in Syracuse, NY; so I bet I will be getting it any day now. I'll also post as soon as I receive it.

Does anyone know if admission letters were sent out yesterday? Last year I think they got an email saying they were sent out - just wondering. ^^

AMEN to that!!!

I practically wept and dropped to my knees on the sidewalk when SB opened last fall!!!

I had just been given almost $100 in SB gift cards, and the closest one was way downtown, I think.

However it has turned into a $4 "toll" on my way out of the subway stop on 168th...

I'm out here in California so I know my letter won't come for a while but I'm so impatient and anxious it is awful... I am just hoping they sent them out on time (oh yeah, and then hoping that I got in!). Whenever anyone gets their letter please update us. Thanks!!

Okay, feeling impatient, I phoned them a moment ago and decision letters were sent today...so a few more days of waiting are upon us (especially us left coasters)
