Hi!
I too received the FAFSA e-mail from Columbia.. I think they sent that to everyone who applied this year so that we put their school in our fafsa application. I am not sure if the fafsa deadline is before we receive any news regarding the acceptance into the program. By the way, when to we get "real" news from them? Good luck to all.

Perhaps they are trying to become a bit more prepared and well organized...

I received an email saying that decisions would be mailed out February 1. I also received the FAFSA email...twice...just wondering if the FAFSA allows to put more than one school to send results to?

Yes, I think there are spaces for four or five...however, I'm not sure if the options for 2nd bachelors degree that Columbia wants you to select would be applicable for other programs you may be applying to. That's where things get tricky...

Yeah I guess it wouldn't be applicable for Yale since it's not a 2nd bachelor program. Any idea on if it's even possible to mix those schools on FAFSA?

I also received an email from Oscar about the FAFSA form. It has been a while since I have completed one of those! The thought of taking out like 50 k for school is a bit scary, but I guess you have to do what you have to do. I am wondering if pretty much everyone will get the 30k scholarship? I will end up making a good bit this year, but of course next year (if I get accepted) you basically will not be working much at all. I asked about this at the info session and Oscar said that the only people who did not qualify for the scholarship were students who were under the age of 25 and had to claim their parents assets. He also said that unless you have a ton of assets, than you will more than likely qualify for the 30k! Good luck to everyone...

From a former ETP-er...

Watch Oscar. Get things in writing. Show up on his doorstep every day if you have to. Don't necessarily believe anything anyone tells you about financial aid and your eligibility. I ultimately left Columbia before the MS phase because I was being jerked around by my department and Oscar in terms of program requirements vs financial aid eligibility requirements. Just stay on top of him.

No, you are married so you will not have to claim your parents income. I think Oscar said that the girls who did not receive the scholarships parents were worth millions. However, after hearing Elizabells talk about the disorganization of the financial aid dept, I am a bit worried.

Hi, I was just wondering how much the tuition is for the ETP program: for the ETP phase and then the masters? They give a cost/credit figure on their website but I have no idea where the amount of credits are posted for the ETP and then the masters (FNP)? Also, current students, how much of this is generally covered?
