BSN with less than 3.0

I really would like to get a Masters degree. My GPA is a 2.73 and I worked hard for that. I know its not high or competitive but could I get into a FNP school or the cuveted CRNA school. I know they are competitive but those are the ones I have been exposed to. If there are any ideas of other programs that I may be able to get into I would love any ideas. Oh, I just graduated in may 11 with a BSN and I am an RN on a medsurg floor. I am willing to work for years to be competitive as well.

I don't know about trying Vanderbilt's FNP program without a 3.0. I tried to speak with them about my low gpa (2.9) and they could have cared less. They told me the minimum of the incoming class (2011) was 3.5 and basically run along. I was crushed, thankfully its not the only program I'm applying to. I've had better reception at several other schools.

sorry to hear that esp. when their website emphasizes nontraditional students and alternate pathways. i got in at western u with a lower gpa overall but a very strong science one. maybe youu wantto raise the science component by taking some classes at community colleges? or some easy 3 unit classes on itv to build it up? as long as the last 2 years are strong and you have reasons for the lower grades, you can sell yourself. good luck

Thanks all for the reply's. I know that it will be a struggle but hope is always what pushes me, no doubt. I will look into Vandy and many others, i'll keep ya posted throgh the process.
