Thank you so much for the updates everyone!
I guess we'll just have to wait for email notifications for interviews with a possible actual interview during late March or early April with that time frame since they are doing the CM applicants first and then FNP.

    Hi stressed girl!
Goodluck to you! I am in the same boat, but only applying to CSULB and CSULA. Have you been out of school for awhile? I have. I was a mIcrobio and English major from UCLA and have been doing research for awhile.
    Hope you respond.

    hey chachingdy!!

Wow, I'm so glad you've been posting on here! I've been having such a hard time finding others who have also applied to CSULA!

Actually, I haven't been out of school for long. I graduated UCSB as a psychology major in 2006 and have been taking the science prereqs since then. I'm finished with everything now.. just waiting for a reply from the schools.

I spoke with the ELMN coordinator from CSULA, and she said that they are hoping to make decisions about who to call back for an interview by the end of this month. They are expecting to interview 30-40 people for the 20 available slots. If the spaces are not filled, they will then consider interviewing more people. But, they will not be having a wait list or anything. Oh, and the interview process will be as a group interview and last around 1.5 hours!

Did you take the TEAS at the school last month? I found a website that showed how they weigh everything in the application process for their regular BSN program, and I'm thinking the ELMN will be kinda similar. You can PM me and let me know if you are interested in seeing it!

    Hope to hear from ya!

    Hi stressed girl,
Thanks for the info! Man I am freaked out. I did well in the TEAS. My last 90 units is a 2.9 but all the classes I took for prereqs after graduating I aced. I have been out of school for 7 years and have academic (scientific) publications. I hope that counts for something. But if they only have 20 spots, we'll see what my chances are.

This is so nerve-wracking isn't it? I hope I get an interview at least. And yes, could you forward me the website? Thanks for being so helpful!

Chachingdy! I just emailed you!! Hope it helps. I am so freaked out too... like I'm just counting the days! I've called and emailed the coordinator a few times for info, and I still have questions, but I'm afraid to call her again b/c I don't want her to think I'm annoying! haha.

I'm sure what you've accomplished after college will definitely help you.... especially if you get an interview and are able to tell them face-to-face!

    Hope to hear from ya!

Interviewed at UCSF in January. I'd like to say I am patiently waiting until March 1st, but I'm struggling at that. :stone I want to know their decision, but don't need to hurry a rejection letter either. I've been accepted to the University of Portland's AEM-UP Program which is a Clinical Nurse Leader role. At UCSF I've applied to the Critical Care/Trauma CNS spot. Not sure what I'll do if I don't get into UCSF, I really liked that program. So even though I have a back-up, I might decide to wait another year. Then again, I turned down Yale's GEPN program last year to apply to UCSF. Hoping i don't seriously regret that in 2 weeks. Fingers and toes crossed - ChickenLL

    Hello,
I'm applying to the ELMSN - CM at samuel Merrit. I have an interview on March 5th. Has anyone heard anything about the interview process/ what to expect? Anyone else interviewing?

Also thanks for berkeleymom for directing me to this site. I think that March 5th is the first day of interviews. I was given either March 5 or 7 as my choice on a first come first serve basis. (we were asked to rank our top two times/ dates)

    Thanks,
    Rachel

    Hello All!

I'm happy to know I am not the only one patiently waiting for a response from the UCLA MECN program. To those who applied and are posting on this site, I hope we all get in!! I only applied to that school, so I'm a little afraid that I put all of my eggs in one basket. I also completed an MPH at UCLA so I'm a little familiar with how UCLA works and what it's like to be a student there.

My question: If we are accepted, we must complete a CNA course. Does anyone know if there is a place to take this course in the evenings and on Saturdays? I know that all of those who are accepted will be given an opportunity to complete it in September, but I will be out of the country at that time. Therefore, I'd like to complete it ahead of time. If anyone knows about a school in LA that offers a CNA course that I can work around my 8-5 current schedule, please let me know!

    Best, Dahianna

    BerkMom--
I was only joking about the golden ticket, and i wasn't intending on causing people to take it literally. . .so my apologies to any of you who might have felt as if i was trying to "Start a Scary Rumor" . . .
Anyhow, thanks for everyones feedback by the way regarding my contact info with SMC staff. . .

How does the email notification thing work by the way? Are both the prospective interviewees and non-accepted applicants notified by email?

Waiting and hoping . . . .but in the meantime have a great weekend! enjoy the sunny sunshine =)

:angel2: Thanks for your response Berkmom,
You're right about the difficulty in internet communication. Don't worry, no apology necessary, you pointed out something i should've considered with the internet communication thing, the way you write may not be interpreted correctly when people are reading.
and yes smiley faces do seem quite effective.
Anyhow, thanks for starting up the great questions on this thread. I love the Beer toast as well. That's probably what we need while waiting for our notifications.
I'll keep all of you in my prayers . . .

Hi all! I've applied into Azusa Pacific University, CSULA, USD, and Western University of the Health Sciences. I live in Vancouver, BC and I wasn't really sure what to expect from these schools and so I took a little trip down to California last summer. I was quite disappointed with Western (I didn't know that it was such a small scale school). The other schools, I dropped USD because it's way too expensive ($100,000).

So now I'm waiting on reply from CSULA which is my first choice because of tuition and I've been accepted into Azusa's program.

I've graduated with a BSc. in Pharmacology in 2006. I also took the TEAS in January and did pretty well. This is really nerve-wracking! Especially because the school had contacted me and told me that they hadn't received my graduate application in the end of Feb! and later found out that it was a computer glitch. Whew!

If chachingdy and stressed_girl are still reading, holla!
