Congratulations to all of you who have been accepted to the MEPN program. I was also accepted this year and can't wait to meet all of you. Does anyone have any tips on how we should be preparing for June? I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!

The school and former MEPN students advise rest and relaxation. Relax!

    See you soon...

Hey, has anyone else heard anything new? Any movement off the wait lists?

I hope everyone is doing well. A few of us have been talking about the paperwork, etc for the incoming folks.

Just moved to SF. It's a foggy, foggy morning, but I have my coffee so life is okay.
June 23rd is the date, I hear!

Hey Star77...I'm wondering as well. I'm #2 on the Waitlist for the ACHIN specialty and I've heard nothing. Still keeping my fingers crossed...but not betting on it. To be so close is torture! Has the school given more updates as to dates and events?

Yeah, stuff is still coming in. A lot of us got our User IDs and stuff. I need to check my mail today. There's a lot of vaccination records and things to do, like CPR renewal (or class) as BLS-Healthcare provider, immunization titers (varicella, Hep B), etc.

Haven't heard anything direct from Finaid yet.
Good luck with the ACHIN! I was in the office the other day, and if you haven't heard that a specialty has closed, then it's still possible.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

    Hi everyone,
Hard to believe the start of program is just around the corner. Has anyone heard on financial aid yet?

For those of you on the wait list, has anyone been admitted off the wait list yet? I am keeping my fingers crossed for you.

    Hello, hello!

This is my first post ever on allnurses.com! I am planning on applying to UCSF MEPN program to begin in Spring 2009. Who out there will be stressing through this year/process with me? I live in the Berkeley -- anyone else? I'm really excited about the prospect of becoming a nurse and also about meeting some great classmates. I've read allnurses.com for a while now and everyone seems really great!

OMG. So I just called the Nursing Student Affairs office to see if I moved up on the alternate list and when we might get final notification. I got nothin. For some reason the woman who answered the phone (nice lady) felt the need to explain what it means to be on the alternate list. Ummm, yea I know! I'm just impatient! I suppose getting my cpr certification wouldn't hurt either way. I'm just afraid (but still hopeful) that they will accept me and I will have like 2 days to do stuff ya'll acceptees have had like 2 months to do!!!

If not...I'm goin to get an early start on preppin for next year's application because I must get accepted BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY!!! LOL.

I will probably be apply for the 2009 MEPN. It's intimidating, hard, stressful, and everything a person fears, but if and when we get in, it's all worth it. =)

it's june 17 today. i think the time has come and gone for the remaining alternates like me...though nothing in the mail yet from ucsf making it official. i work in the health sciences west building on campus and can see the nursingschool building from my lab window. what a motivator, so close, and yet, not quite. so i'm ready for round two! very best to all who are starting this week, and to future applicants, re- or otherwise.

Yepppp Redwood...I agree. It's time to make different plans for this year and start anew for next! I plan on going to the Caribbean in July and then when I come home I should be refreshed and motivated to go out there and get experience experience experience to put me in a better position for acceptance next year. What is your specialty? Make sure to keep posting as you go through the steps this time around...Hopefully 2 will be our magic number since I've heard of folks being on the alternate list 3 times!!
Congrats to the Class of 2008!!!!!!

I'm so sorry you guys - I wish you were in the class. There are a number of people who have applied more than once in this group (including me). There are also two women who were called on Monday to come to school (one week ago).
Keep going, and I wish you the very best of luck.
    Hugs to you.

Hello all, I want to say congrats to all those who made it in and good luck to those who are reapplying for next year.

I know this may be a little bit off topic, but I figured this would be the best place to go for help with the application.

I am not applying for the masters entry, but for the regular msn program for Fall of 2009, and on the online application where you list your education, I cannot seem to find where you put that you have an associates degree. In the drop down menu, the only option that I see is for ADN. I have an associates degree in something else, not an ADN, I have my bachelors in nursing. Anyone else have the same dilemma?

Thank you in advance for any help.
