Pcu?

by 367tank

Can anyone explain the difference between the PCU and PICU?
Is the PCU a stepdown from the PICU?

I always thought PCU meant the Progressive Care Unit, never being related to pediatrics.

xkimmie518x is right. PCU is Progressive Care Unit, which is a fancy term for a step-down from CCU, MICU, SICU etc. PICU is Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Very different things. I suppose it's possible to have a pediatric PCU, but I can't think of any pediatric settings that use that terminology.
