I'm starting my new graduate internship in a PICU next month. In school we weren't really exposed to much critical care at all and I was wondering if someone could suggest a book to read up on before I start and to be a reference along the way. I want to be as prepared as possible and have something that I can reference once I begin working!
I would really appreciate any suggestions!

The resources I usually recommend to new PICU nurses are the Core Curriculum for Pediatric Critical Care Nursing
(2006) from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, Manual of Pediatric Critical Care
(1999) Hazinski and AACN Procedure Manual for Pediatric Acute and Critical Care
(2007) from AACN. They're all available through Amazon
. The Hazinski is probably the easiest for a really new-to-cricital-care nurse to navigate.
