Working as a Company Nurse

Hi! I would just like to ask if working as a company nurse here in the Philippines will count as "nursing experience" when applying overseas? Thank you so much for your inputs

of coures yes! if you'll be applying for similar positions abroad e.g. occupational health nurse, HSE nurse, company nurse etc. but if you're planning to apply for a hospital postion, that's a different thing.

I see...Thanks for the info! But that's the thing,of course i want to work in a hospital setting someday...And i would only take the company nurse position so as to have nursing experience here in the Philippines since no hospital would hire us. (sigh)

they usually require hospital experience.. but I think Saudi Arabia is not that strict with this requirement.. I have 2 friends who were hired in a hospital in Saudi.. they are company nurses here in PI.. I don't know the agency though..

One can work as a nurse in various settings; can you just imagine a world if all nurses could only/should only work in the hospital?

Hehe, of course the institution where you are applying can demand what kind of experience they'd want. It's usually matched with one that is related to the hiring institution (e.g. hospital experience for hospital jobs overseas) because they'd expect some level of confidence in you, being a foreign, non-native worker.

do you have any idea on how much the usual starting salary for nurses in KSA is? coz i had an offer of 2.5k SR from a certain agency but they told me that they can give me 3k SR if i have a 2yr working xprience (i only have 7 mos. xprience in an occupational health setting and 3 mos. in a pre-hospital setting)

is the offer good enough? (applicants should be RN,EMT's and will be working in a clinic/EMS ambulance of a construction company)

thanks in advance

i think 2.5k is good, provided that you have also have free board and lodging. RNs' salary in KSA range from 2k-4k, depending on your experience...you can also try asking the peeps on the SRO-MOH-Saudi thread
