What is the difference...?

Is the offer letter and contract for employment the same?...Hope someone could enlighten me. thanks.

No, the offer letter is just that, you must meet their requirements before they can offer an actual contract.

Example: You sign with an agency, they cannot start any petitioning until you have actually passed the NCLEX-RN exam or the CGFNS exam, so essentially what you are signing in the beginning is a job offer letter. That if they meet their requirements, then they will process your application.

Similar to a letter of intent. But not an actual contract.
