I am a US immigrant, thinking of going back to the Philippines to study Nursing over there. I am currently on a waiting list in one of the school here, and God knows when I'll be able to get it.

I need help to find a good school for Nursing and how long I can stay back there without messing my green card!

Help please.....

There is much already written on this topic on this forum. Please just do a search for more information.

Also, please be aware that you will need to get the four year BSN as that is the only degree that is recognized for licensure there, and that is the requirement for licensure here as well. if you train in PI. And that the programs there are now adding in a 5th year, you need to seriously consider going to school in the US, perhaps in another location but it will be easier for you all the way around.

Also be aware that as an immigrant to the US, and still a citizen of the Philippines, if the state that you wish to work in requires the local license first, you will be required to complete that. Having a green card does not take away any of the requirements. Your licensure requirements will always be that of a foreign grad, that depends on where you went to school, not immigration status.

I honestly didn't get that part, sorry! Im just confuse right now of what needs to be done...my family is tellin' me to just stay here and study, but I thought it will be inexpensive backhome and I heard after takin the exam (NCLEX) , I'll be able to work here as an RN? Help please!

You will be required to go thru the licensing process as a foreign grad, and if requirements change, then you will need to meet those. Licensure and immigration are two very different things.

I would listen to your family. There are also issues right now with many of the training programs in the Philippines not doing things as they should and with 15 plus students to one patient, your skill level will not be the same as if you graduated in the US.

no , actually i was wondring why for example florida board of nursing approved my other friend to take nclex without local philippine exam... and the other one was disapproved because he has not take the exam and pass the philippine boards... just wondering if they made a mistake in allowing the the other one... did i make a point sorry i am still sleepy
