I have just been there this afternoon and they say that they no longer have openings for staff nurses. BUT, if you want, you can leave your resume with them for manpower pooling only. I have a male friend with me and we both passed our resumes. The lady didn't say anything about not accepting resumes from male applicants.

As I understand it there are new rules which prohibit certain job positions (such as nurses) to be advertised by gender anymore. Of course this doesn't prevent the unofficial policies of hiring women only to take place.

let alone women who are 22-26, slender, 5'1" - 5'6" and have a "pleasant personality" Hiring practices in the Philippines never cease to amaze me...

I passed the initial interview but sadly, I failed the technical. During the final interview, they would be asking you any topics about nursing. And the last part would be, they would be asking you if you have any foreign exams.. and how long are you willing to stay with them.

Male nurses are seen as more dominant and less submissive than female nurse. Read this as: Women are easier to control by management and less confrontational when there is a problem.

It isn't fair but that's the mentality.
