too old to be a nurse....

by nwb

Hi! Im a 34 year old nursing student. I'll be 37 years old by the time i graduate. Some says that i'll be too old to be a nurse at 37! Does age really matter when applying for a nursing job?

Hope everything's well with all the filipino nurses and students.

Never too old, and that is actually young by US standards now.

Never too late to have a career in nursing. Have known several friends and co-workers much older than you willing to sacrifice everything just to fulfil
their life long dreams to see the big apple.

Never, thats discrimination here in America, Employers will not even ask your age or marital status, as long as you have a nursing license and you are qualified for the job. FYI, we have nursing students in their 40's and enjoying nursing school. In other countries, they may have some age limit, so, you might want to check. Goodluck with nursing school.

Never too old to be a new nurse. I went to nursing school with 3 -40 yr olds and they had old careers before they jumped into nursing. Plus, I work with nurses who have been in nursing for a while and they're like wine. Aged to perfection Some of them are in their 60s and they still do a good job. Good luck!

Okay..........and how old will you be in three years if you don't graduate??

BTW, I was almost 40 when I became a new RN. You're "too old" only when you're pushing up the daisies.
