The biggest issue that I have with that program is that it is not recognized by the Philippine Nursing Board in their country, and there have been issues with the clinical training of some of the RN programs, so where in the world are they going to do their practical training as a SPN?

Definitely, will not have an easy time to get a position in the US with that degree from there. Clincial training is just not going to be up to US standards.........and how can it be when they do not have LPNs there in the first place? The instructors probably have never even been to the US in the first place.

Bad move, in my opinion.

The few programs there qualify to take the NCLEX-PN exam, but that does not mean that a facility will hire someone based on that training, especially since there is not a shortage of LPNs in the US. Even if they are a US citizen.

One thing also, RNs can go into specialization like in ER, ICU, OR, NP or CRNA. LPNs don't. And in the American setting, LPNs rely on RNs for leadership. So if you are in the Philippines take the BSN instead and be an RN here in the US. Plus the pay is much higher for RNs. And there many opportunities available if one is an RN.

Any idea?

thank you
Just a little piece of advise from your fellow American cit.....if you want to study LPN in the Philippines? why not study BSN instead? there are a lot of good schools in the Philippines. Since you are already an American citizen, you are not required to take the local board exam there..you can go straight taking the Licensure exam in the US, ( NCLEXRN). I personally don't require studying LPN/LVN courses in the Phil. because you will never know if its credited here in the USA..plus I don't know if they will teach you a better skills there, LPN classes here in the US is very strict...you need to pass all the competencies before graduating...of coarse, safety is a must...I say its better to study LPN/LVN here. there are many colleges here in the US that offers LPN courses in less than two years, ( Hawaii community colleges offers 3 semesters, not including the prerecquisite classes). And if you finished your BSN in the Philippines, even if you still want to be an LPN, then you can take the NCLEX-PN and maybe proceed with NCLEX-RN later on..always aim high! goodluck

My husband is an RN, but his work in the Phils is non RN related.
In case, we are able to go to the US w/ my immigration visa as RN,
what are the requirements needed before he can take the NCLEX-LPN?

Well, you have to check the state where you will regarding the requirements. If your husband is a BSN graduate in the Philippines, then he can take the NCLEX-RN though he can also take the NCLEX-PN.

Hello, i was wondering if you got into the LPN program in the Philippines? I found one LPN school in the PI and its called kennedy review center or KRC. However am still kind of hesitant to get into there program unless i talk to somebody who graduated there and prove that the classes that i'll be taking will be accredited here to the US when i get into a BSN program.

Just to clarify something. IF you are a green card holder and a US citizen then it would be fine to take those LPN programs that are offered in some schools in the philippines, like Philippines Paramedical and Technical School? Thanks..
