Taking up Nursing: Need or career?

for those of you who are now into nursing education or practicing nursing as a profession... what was your reason for doing so? I mean if you just can share it...

In my case, at first it was a need, but as i continue practicing my profession... i am beginning to like it and i have no regrets, whatsoever, in leaving my previous job and pursuing further studies and eventually being part of the health care team...

so to those who shifted careers... goodluck and i hope you will learn to like and love the nursing profession...
