Deja Vu
I took the NCLEX last May, when the super typhoon hit Hong Kong. Signal Number 3 was up.
I was lucky coz I flew in 1 day before the exam, and was booked in a hotel in Kowloon.
took the MTR to the exam site.
we were only 7 examinees during that day...the reason being a lot of examinees flew to Macau coz it's cheaper. problem was, the Star Ferry was shut down coz of the typhoon. but the MTR was not.
the typhoon hit full force 30 minutes after I left the exam site.
(prayers work! I was praying so hard for the typhoon not to hit while I was taking the exam, coz a single power fluctuation could wipe out my exam.)
this is why I advise flying in 1 day before the NCLEX, and fly to Hong Kong proper, not Macau--especially in Typhoon Season. (would the savings matter if you don't get to take the NCLEX?) the MTR was working even with all the "Signal Number 3 is hoisted" LED signs in the MTR stations.
from what I know, the examinees who were not able to take the exam also forfeited their money.
