I already checked their website. I graduated from there back in '06. It only says they are accredited in the Philippines. It doesnt say anything about the US. Here's my situation. Im an enlisted member in US Navy. I am trying to get into the Officer Program because I have a bachelor's in nursing. I cant get my officer package started because my degree is not from a college in the US. I just need to know how to find out about SLU's accreditation here in the US. I've tried contacting my Dean back in SLU and looking at the International Accreditation Board but still no luck in finding what im looking for. Any help from anyone will do. Thank You!

Start by finding out what accrediting body the Navy requires. There are many accrediting bodies for academic institutions in the US and often the main accrediting body for US based colleges and universities are "regional accrediting organizations" (see: http://www.chea.org/pdf/CHEA_USDE_AllAccred.pdf). I live in Michigan and the universities here need to be accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. I doubt if SLU in the Philippines is accredited by any of the regional accrediting organizations in the US. In terms of US nursing programs, there are two bodies that award accreditation to nursing programs and they are NLNAC (http://www.nlnac.org/) or CCNE (http://www.aacn.nche.edu/Accreditation/). NLNAC has a few foreign accredited programs in their list (none are in the Philippines). CCNE only lists US based nursing programs as accredited. Individual state BON's recognize nursing programs in many foreign countries including the BSN offered in the Philippines and allow graduates of those programs to take the NCLEX. However, that is NOT considered as accreditation per se.

There is a military forum on this board you find more information

I would also contact your congress man and perhaps there staff can advocate for a waiver for you.

Last the route maybe for you to get an accredited MSN degree.
