| | Sacrifices you made to pass the NLE or NCLEX
Reviewing for NLE or NCLEX takes a lot of hardships, patience, perseverance and sacrifice. What were the sacrifices you had to make in order to focus for the exam and pass it?
Well, mine was not spending my '08 summer out of town with my friends and barely going out on dates with my boyfriend hehe, too bad for him. :P Then, after i passed the NLE, i was rarely home already haha
What about you?

when i was reviewing for the nle i didn't read non-nursing books (am a book lover myself hehe), didn't go out with my non-nursing friends for 2 months, and gave up watching tv altogether. it wasn't that hard though because almost everyone else i knew is in review mode anyway

hmmm...sacrifices, sacrifices..
for my foreign exams, since i wasn't receiving much help from my parents financially, i had to save up for the finances myself. so yeah, my sacrifices include not going out during paydays, not going along with outings, not spending too much for my little perk-me-ups, all to finance my exams. yeah, i passed all of them, so it was worth it. but then, i'm still stuck here, so sometimes i wonder what would have happened if i opted to "enjoy" my money for fun instead of being so scrooge-like with it all the time. hehe

Oh, I'm sort of in the same sentiments as you are... After I took the board exam I immediately looked for a job because I wouldn't be given allowances anymore. And then after passing it, most of my salary just went to PRC for my registration and certificates, some nclex requirements, and other trainings as well.
We nurses need a lot of investments in our career. Just hope it really pays off someday.

Oh, I'm sort of in the same boat as you are. Most of my salary just go to PRC, nursing books, NCLEX and trainings. We nurses really need to invest a lot in this career. I just really hope that it will pay off someday!

Re: Sacrifices you made to pass the NLE or NCLEX
Me,,, Is like having your own world... No one should bother me. I gave up going out with my non-nursing friends, watching tv and movies. I even rarely see my family because I am locking myself in my room. I missed all the gatherings for 2 months but it was all paid for because I passed it at first take. I thank God and everyone in my life for the understanding and support.
