HI y'all,

i was wondering, how friendly is UST nursing to accepting foreign students? (not FilAm)

Another question... about the curriculum, class schedule... Is it in blocked sections? Do they have classes on Saturday? i don't mind clinical duty on saturdays but how bout the classes itself, Is it possible to fix up our own schedule and have no saturday classes for those 4 years? when does clinical start? thanks.

Or if you know other Good Nursing schools without saturday classes, i'd appreciate the info. thanks.

i am an alumni of nursing, dont ask what year .
as far as i know, UST has accepted foreign students from all over the world. you just have to complete the foreign student credentials.
It is a block class, so whoever you have as classmates for the 2nd year (1st year is not counted, because if you dont maintain the avrage by the end of the year they might have to reject you for 2nd year) will most probably be the same ones you'll have till you graduate.
Classes are from Monday to Friday, no Saturday classes. Even for the practicum, i think.
UST Nursing is really great, and i do hope you'll apply there and get admitted. Goodluck.

did i give you the impression it was a long time ago?
i can assure you that UST Nursing classes are only from Mondays to Fridays. I have a cousin who graduated 2 yrs ago, and her classes are like so. So unless they changed the schedules, that's how it has been long many, many yrs now....
Non-Medical courses are from Tuesday to Saturday......

wel yah you made it sound like you graduated a laaawwwng time ago. I'm SORRY But thanks again.. really appreciate your confirmation. My nephew wants to go through UST, he's somehow hooked on UST, he wants to go there so badly, IF there's no saturday classes. thanks again.

Hello! Actually there are Saturday RLE classes, but they usually start on the 3rd year of nursing school. But don’t fret though, cause it’s only for one semester instead of one whole school year. You either get a MonTueWed or a ThuFriSat for the RLE…So, if you get the MTW for the first sem you’ll get the ThFS for the second sem and vice-versa.

THANKS so much for the info... but unfortunately if there is no way around the saturday class for that ONE semester, we still can't go to UST. It's against our religion, so, no matter what, SADLY UST is not an option anymore

in our school we can choose our own class schedule, but the hospital duties might fall on a saturday. maybe your nephew could ask the person responsible for fixing the schedule not to give him saturday duties. Good Nursing schools around metro manila are UST, FEU, and UP. Aside from those we also have colleges like Perpetual Help college,Trinity College, Family Clinic College and St. Jude College. Colleges tend to be more lenient with rules but the Universities have better quality of education.

Not all universities have better quality of education than colleges... There are a lot of colleges which also produce good nurses... St. Paul College (now university) has been consistently produces good nurses... Chinese General Hospital College of Nursing, Metropolitan Hospital College of Nursing.... Still a lot of good colleges of nursing in the provinces, even beter than universites in Metro Manila...
