Psychology

Is the subject psychology needed for nursing validation or creditation in the US? I haven't taken this subject during college but I have taken up philosophy and sociology subjects. Would that be alright? or do I need to take this particular subject? I am a second courser by the way.

ello... i think psychology subject is needed by a health professional... so i guess you better browse more to be sure... if it is needed in the US... or ask persons who applied for nclex because there's a list of subjects directy to be filled up by a dean and check if psych is included... god bless

Philosophy, Sociology and Psychology subjects may be inter-related but they are not the same. I believe that every Nursing graduate needs to have taken up Psychology. It is better to be safe than sorry. If no one can give you a definite answer if you need it or not, it would be better for you to take it while it’s early than have problems with the PRC/BON later on. Good luck!

Yes, psychology is a required course for nursing here in the US. Sociology and philosophy count as other credits required for a nursing degree.
