hi tobby_walter

from what I can remember, I got the form from the Nursing Service Office of PGH, then i went back to my school and have it accomplished by our Dean. Good luck on your application, you can make it. I'm also from a small province in Bicol, and made it to PGH. Just be your self and be confident, especially with your fundamentals of Nursing.

Are they currently accepting applications or is there a sked when applications can be submitted? I'm also from bicol and I'm planning to go to manila next week.

hello everyone!!
Just like kidkumag, i will have my panel interview at PGH this February. Thank you NP gilly for information that you shared, it was very helpful. I've been waiting for this interview for 6 months, and i dont want to screw it up. I still have 2 weeks to prepare, but right now my knees are already shaking. I always wanted to work at PGH, it is my dream hospital. I hope and pray that everythig will be fine on my big day.

I am currently employed at PGH. hmmm... The one who posted this thread might already have the answer to his questions but I would still answer it just the same.

Well, for those of you who are still about to apply at my beloved hospital (wow, with feelings), you can apply because it is on continuous hiring. But, it is for manpower pooling only as of the moment. They would like to empty the thousand of applicants who have finished the panel interview and exam first before starting new batches. When I wrote thousands, I mean THOUSANDS (no kidding). We have our own version of retrogression at PGH. The priority date is 2007 hirees for deployment. The opening in Canada has paved the way to increase the transition rate of PGH employees. Usually our deployment rate is about 10 nurses per batch per month at an average. If there are any questions, please feel free to buzz me (The Singing Bee in combo with The Buzz.. hehe..).

so the priority date moved back to september 2008.. don't worry many pgh nurses are bound to go to Canada, especially those in the ICUs. I assure you that there will be vacancies soon.

Think you may have the wrong year PD has gone back to 2003 for all but India and that remains at 2001.

However i do think if you are going to look at another country to work that it is done for the right reasons and not just use it as a stepping stone to the US. Going to Canada will not make it any easier unless you gain Canadian citizenship and can use the NAFTA treaty but that will take approx 5 years

I think what they are referring as PD 2008 here is not the PD for immigration but the PD for PGH applicants. As gambutrol stated in his post, PGH is still processing those applicants that applied before September 2008.
