If you google maps and Norway you will see where it is. Northern Europe but not part of the EU

Climate can be very cold with long episodes of daylight.

To the OP do you have a work permit?

You also will not be working there in the capacity of the RN. You must be completely fluent in the language and pass the language exam before you qualify to write the licensing exam for working there.

You will be going there in the capacity of the care-giver. The salary paid may seem like alot, but in terms of their money and how expensive things are there, it is a small sum of money when you need to purchase something.

It is also quite cold, and no sunshine like you are used to in the winter time. Very different from what you are used to.

Best of luck.

yes language is part f the process but soon she will learn it, even if for the meantime she will not work as a Rn but eventually after the whole process then im sure youll be working as a RN, regarding the weather condition im sure she can adapt to it , if no one can adapt to it that wont be a good reason why Norway such a progressive country. lets just be happy that she has a work unlike just doing nothing here in Philippines.

My experience has been every person from a warm climate, hates the cold. I have not met one person who came from a tropical climate embrace living in the cold. I am not talking about just nurses, I mean any person who comes from a tropical climate. All winter all you hear is how the can't wait to leave and plan on leaving ASAP and how they hate the cold

Now on top of that being in a foreign country with a very high cost of living and working as a maid or caregiver ( which means you days will be taking care of old frail people who you can't communicate with). I went to Nursing school to be a professional, not to toliet and feed old people all day long. This will not be considered nursing experience. I personally feel these nurses are selling themselves short.

I just wonder how happy a person can be working in a dead end position, in a climate that is very difficult for any person from a tropical area.

I personally feel professionally trained nurses deserve better. just my opinion

It is one of the coldest countries in the world in the winter, not something that many are going to be able to tolerate; especially if they were raised in the tropics.

We still have not seen any go over there that have made it thru the RN licensing program as of yet.

Sorry, but going to work as a care-giver like this and for a salary that will not cover anything there, is not a good idea. No matter what you call it. One also does not get credit for the time spent as the care-giver, it does not count as current work experience.

Would recommend that all of you actually do some research as to what it is like there in the winter. When you do not have the money to do all of the fun things that are offered, it is going to be more than difficult.
